Not a baseball historian, but from a statistical point of view:
The long-term (1957-2018) unconditional probability of winning an away game in MLB is 46.1% . So the likelihood of seeing 7 consecutive away game wins is
0.461^7 = 0.442%, i.e. 1 out of 226 seven-game series !!!

It's happened 1:1420 if I am remembering correctly, across the 4 major US sports.

Well, MLB has the lowest home-field advantage (i.e. the highest chance of an away-win):It's happened 1:1420 if I am remembering correctly, across the 4 major US sports.

Totally agree. Astros bullpen was verrrrrrry shaky in all 3 previous home games in this series so why would you freakin save him? For what, in case you had a lead in the 9th? AJ Hinch nearly cost himself the World Series in 17 because of his dumb pitching decisions but was saved by the fact that Dave Roberts is a worse bullpen manager than he is.If the intention was to pitch Cole tonight no matter what, why not have him be first one in?

Taking out Greinke doomed the Astros and Hinch seemed quite desperate pulling him out and then going to Osuna pretty early
It's somewhat cathartic watching the Nats win, probably for dodint too, since we've had the "pleasure" of listening to Tony Kornheiser detailedly discuss them for the last few years
Add in Harper leaving and them winning the very next year and it makes for a spicy, spicy Thursdsy show

Yeah, that was a terrible call and then the next half inning a Nat (can't remember who) had two strikes, took the same pitch and it was a ballLol that called strike three on Correa was half a foot inside
Have to call them even blue

Hinch undoubtedly overmanaged his pitching staff last night. That has doomed a lot of managers and it doomed him last night.

This will definitely make Phillies fans salty. They hate the Nats...the Bryce Harper stuff makes it so much more delicious.

Yeah, I know way too much about the Nats. I had a friend that worked for the staff but quit a few years ago to move back to Pittsburgh to be closer to family. He's super pumped, but he also knows his friends that stayed behind are being fitted for rings and he lives in Allison Park. *sad trombone*It's somewhat cathartic watching the Nats win, probably for dodint too, since we've had the "pleasure" of listening to Tony Kornheiser detailedly discuss them for the last few years

TK is too kind to Harper, firm but kind. I won't go as far as to say the Nats should've been winning WS the last few years if not for Harper, but it's really hard to picture them winning it this year with him. Papelbon choked him for a reason. He's a narcissistic shitheel whose demeanor incompatible with what the Nats accomplished this season. Found your ring, Bryce, it's sized for Soto though.

Speaking of shitheels, Buck did shoehorn in one last birthday recognition during the post game.

Still speaking of shitheels, Cole did his post game interviews last night wearing a Boras Corp hat and said this:

You could tell that Cole really wanted to go scorched Earth but he bit his tongue just enough. The ratiinale Hinch gave to when he had planned on using Cole made zero sense. You had the lead in the 7th when you took out Greinke, you dope. Only had 8 outs to get.

Pompous assI don't know what the term is for Cole. He's not whiny per se or a drama queen. But he just gets less and less likeable imo

They were supposed to make the switch for last season but the league delayed it. Those look great.
