I seriously love the comments in these articles.
Hi Rick I saw you through your baseball career and spoke to you time after time saying to you don't let the fans get to you. I knew all along that you still had that big curve ball that hardly no one could hit as when I last saw you at spring training as a Braves Player which I don't like at Disney world and Saw you throw that big hook pitch. That showed me you still Had it in you and wish you would come back as a St Louis Cardinal Player Pitcher or Out Fielder cause you have the style that can place you in both places on the field for them. Please come back and play as a Cardinal Player. Sincerely a Fan Rmbigmac2558370.

Leonys Martin has been battling a life-threatening bacterial infection that attacked his internal organs. He is currently in stable condition, and is improving. Chris Antonetti addressed the Indians about the situation this afternoon.
Things were looking dire, but Martin's condition has improved over the last couple of days. He's now able to communicate and was able to get up and sit in a chair for a few hours yesterday.
Antonetti: "Progress will be measured in weeks, not days."
On Leonys Martin, the timeline of his life-threatening bacterial infection and the Indians' hope that he'll make a full recovery.
"Those toxins did damage to his internal organs and the functioning of those organs was compromised, and it was severe."

The benches clearing should have resulted in Urena taking a beating. What a horseshit move.

Love the annual game in Williamsport (place of my birth) for the LLWS. Not sure if it is cooler for the kids or the major leaguers, especially the ones like Todd Frazier who played in the LLWS as a kid.
Bucs back in town next season vs Cubs. Wonder if the plan is to alternate this between the Bucs and Phillies?

Yeah; it's nice for a millionaire that plays a kids game for a living to have a good day from time to time.

Can you imagine how whiny yinzers would be if they got him back and he was the 4th outfielder here?

Man, it's not like the guy is 35. He's 31 and completely dropped off a cliff.

http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/mlb/pad ... =DELLDHP17The Padres have told Brian and Marcus Giles they are no longer welcome at official alumni events due to concerns over their involvement in past incidents of domestic violence.
The team said the decision was made in response to objections voiced by some fans after the brothers participated in an alumni softball game last week at NAS North Island.
"We understand the frustrations and concerns of our fans regarding the alumni softball game," the team said Wednesday in a statement to the Union-Tribune. "The issue has been addressed and new procedures are in place as to who will be invited to participate in the future."
Did he really speak in third person about all of his fans?Giles said Wednesday he did not want to "re-litigate" the case.
"There's not much you can really do," he said. "You have people that like Brian Giles, love Brian Giles. Those people have never wavered. You do have people that don't like you and are never going to like you. If there's a lesson I learned from my dad, it's worry about the things you can control. I can't worry about those people that don't like me and don't have all the facts in this case."
