Posada shouldnt even be a yankees ring of honor guy. Thats probably extreme, but if posada is in consideration...so is jason kendall.

Bingo. Jason Kendall is a great comparable in terms of statistics. The only reason Posada is getting the attention he's getting is because he was a lifelong Yankee.

To be fair, how many ring of honor guys aren't in the hall?

Sure, if you ignore the 200 more HR's that Posada had and the 170 more steals that Kendall had. They were similar average and OBP guys, but were very different players.

No way Posada should be in HOF. No way he shouldn't be a ring of honor guy. Neither of those things is really that debatable.

Big snub to Trevor Hoffman. 5 votes short. San Diego sports radio had him on for the air for the last two weeks looking for a feel good story post Dick Spanos ripping a team from a supportive community. No relief. He was a great closer.

"Two highest draft picks" being their two highest "available" draft picks according with MLB's weird rule with trading draft picks, so picks 56 and 75.

Posada's numbers for a catcher were better than I thought.
Posada is only the fifth MLB catcher with at least 1,500 hits, 350 doubles, 275 home runs, and 1,000 RBIs in a career.[1] From 2000 to 2011, he compiled more RBIs and home runs than any other catcher in baseball. He is the only MLB catcher to ever bat .330 or better with 40 doubles, 20 home runs, and 90 RBIs in a single season.

Yeah, he was really good. Just a tier below Hall of Fame in my mind.

Looking like former Buccos great SRod is going to miss the entire season due to shoulder surgery resulting from his car crash with a stolen police cruiser that killed the other driver and landed SRod's wife and two of his kids in the hospital. Hope he and his family make full recoveries.
