I'm going to show my yinzer here, but I don't think they're that far off from a Super Bowl worthy roster. This roster went 9-7-1 with a statue at QB.
Compare them to KC, Bucs, Buffalo.

IMO, those are deep talented rosters that the Steelers don't even sniff. The Steelers can't handle ONE injury to either Watt or Cameron and that entire structure falls.

Steelers do not have a Super Bowl worthy roster, imo.
They beat buffalo
you're better than this

The bills just aren't quite a complete team to me. At their best they can hang with anyone as we saw last week. But they also lost to the steelers, lost to the jags, got ran all over by the Colts. I just don't believe they bring their best on a consistent enough basis to be in a tier with the Chiefs

On this take, I stand with nocera. This roster made the playoffs sweeping all non-Burrow divisional games and beating the top two AFC playoff seeds. They have players.

They also tied DET and needed OT to beat SEA and BAL teams led by QB2, so there's that. And it is funny to me that the only time they breached the 30-point barrier this year was an L.

They’ll hire from within and it doesn’t matter who it is since Tomlin is really the DC.

Then hire an AHC and free up Tomlin to be the defacto DC.

Lol what a statement. “I finally became a DC in the NFL but wasn’t allowed to do the primary task of the role.”

Is there any other team in the league that the DC doesn't call defensive plays? I feel like it's more common on offense

Rodgers leaving the Pack seems like it might happen. He’s not coming to the Steelers but him moving on will help the Steelers indirectly since there will be one less QB needy team out there. Still don’t think Kenny is falling done to 20 though and I don’t want any of the other midget QBs

I'm really not on board with the Rodgers train. He's going to cost draft capital, and there are more holes than the QB, and he's just another QB who can't win when it matters.

I'd lose my fkn mind if they got Rodgers. Istantly puts them in the upper tier of the AFC.

But

I bet you they end up with Jimmy G and have a very similar season as this one

I’m all for them building the lines and giving them a year to gel before going for a top notch QB. If that means sucking next year in order to draft higher in what hopes to be a better draft for qb’s, all the better.

But it’s not the steeler way so they’ll pretend they are a contender next year, win 7-9 games, and be stuck in neutral until they actually have a terrible year and a decent qb is available in the draft.

No. Like all NFL contracts it’s complicated and dumb.

I bet rodgers goes to Tennessee. Better supporting cast and sending tannehill back to gb probably makes more sense for them.
