Defense will keep them in games, but yeah the oline is really really really bad.

it was really bad last year and they had a QB that couldn't move. 9-7-1 against the hardest SOS IIRC. I don't see how they'll be worse this year

Didn't Ben lead the league in 4 quarter comebacks last year? IIRC they struggled the entire game until he took over. I don't see Trubisky or Pickett doing that, BUT MAYBE they'll actually have an offense the other 58 minutes.

I read an interesting stat last night, "Detroit has had only 13 winning seasons (over .500) in 50 years." Tomlin has had 12 winning seasons in 15 years.

As long as the defense stays healthy, if whoever QBs doesn't turn the ball over, he shouldn't have to do a whole lot to pull out games.

There's another bananas one. I can't remember exactly, but it's on the order of "the last player who was on an active NFL roster when the Lions won their last playoff game retired over 20 years ago", and they retired like 10 years after that win. I've gone fuzzy on the specifics, but you get the idea -- the Lions are endemically awful.

Is this a Bush replacement?

Edit: No, a Watt back up.

Here are the roster cuts for the Steelers, getting them closer to the 53 man roster needed today by 4PM:
Running backs (1): Max Borghi

Wide receivers (3): Tyler Snead, Tyler Vaughns, Cody White

Tight ends (2): Kevin Rader, Jace Sternberger

Offensive line (5): William Dunkle, Adrian Ealy, Chaz Green, John Leglue, Ryan McCollum

Defensive line (4): Carlos Davis, Khalil Davis, Donovan Jeter, Henry Mondeaux

Linebackers (5): Buddy Johnson, Ron'Dell Carter, Hamilcar Rashed, Delontae Scott, James Vaughters

Defensive backs (3): Elijah Riley, Chris Steele, Linden Stephens

The Steelers also waived/injured Carlins Platel.
There will be some more cuts and injured players moving to IR, but have to be on the 53 man first.

Imagine being so bad at your job that you can't make the Steelers OL depth chart.

Also, Donovan Jeter!?!

Lol'd at Jeter. Had no idea. Also Vaughns looked good this preseason hopefully they'll be able to keep him around

From Reddit:
Steelers fans - do not get excited about this. He was Public Enemy #1 in Miami last season. Single handedly got Tua’s ribs shattered and was a turnstile all season at RT.

Flores loves this man and refused to bench him until week 18. Now their love story can continue.

Guy allowed 8 sacks last year. And yet, I feel like this is an improvement.
