It will be a long time until we see another QB put in 18 years on one team.

it was more than 30 years between bradshaw and ben. if it takes another 30 years for a franchise QB to return to the Stillers, i'll be in my late 60s. I don't think I'm mentally equipped for 30 years of mike tomczak and kent graham

Wish we won a few more SBs with him, but I'll forever be grateful for the two that we do have.

88% capacity and one of the few teams with declining TV ratings. Turns out people don't want to watch a boring team, even in Pittsburgh.

I can't think of any game that was really exciting. Every game usually came down around the 4th quarter and it was 3 quarters of trash to get there.

I think the Steelers are one of the only teams that actually take turnstile count for games in the league. Still though...much like every other sports team here in the city (and the country), the fans come when they win and start bailing out when they lose.

It could be much worse next year depending on how the QB situation goes.

Gonna miss him... although he hasn't been 'him' for the last few years.

Video was fine. It's a bit cringe that they couldn't edit it to remove the shots of him reading directly from his note card, but otherwise was okay.

So, I haven't looked. Does this video take the place of an official press conference? If so, then kudos.

Also remember Heinz is one of the smallest capacity stadiums in the League.

Only Washington (78.5 %), Detroit (79.9%) and the New York Jets (86.9%) were worse.
Regardless of Covid or capacity, it's still one of the worst in the league.

Which makes it even worse that they can't sell the place out all the time ;) . Especially with how "hardcore" steelers fans are supposed to be.

The Steelers as mentioned before are one of the only ones to measure by actual butts in seats vs paid attendance. So it's not apples to apples. They're always near the bottom here. The best comparison is just year-to-year of their own attendance

Yeah I get it. I know the tickets are paid for etc, but empty seats still look bad and show disinterest and if someone tries to unload them no one is buying.

I don't really care either way...I was just trying to poke some fun today.

In that case it's down nearly 3% from 2019 and the worst since 2013.

I'm not sure where I said the 49ers had the best fans or attendance, other than when they travel well to certain places. Most of the people in SF are pretty fair weather and always have been...and its probably made worse now by the stadium not even being in actual SF.

Plus that photo above was their 2-14 year (I think), or the 6-10 year...so not unexpected.

Since 1970 the Steelers have finished last in their division twice. There are some high expectations.

I guess I'm just saying this seems much ado about nothing really. Of course it's going to decrease when the team is worse, and of course less people are going to go during a pandemic. Both of those combined in like 1,800 less people a game actually going, meh
