2017 Cardinals at 49ers

I'm not sure where I said the 49ers had the best fans or attendance, other than when they travel well to certain places. Most of the people in SF are pretty fair weather and always have been...and its probably made worse now by the stadium not even being in actual SF.

Just hitting the ball back into your court
Well played.

It's not just "not in SF". It's over the horizon, 2 counties removed and an hour's drive.

It's quicker to fly to LA than to drive to Santa Clara. In a way it might actually be more convenient to come here for games.

Right, okay, even if we write off the falling attendance to Covid, the TV ratings are even worse.
Two weeks ago, CBS released some national numbers touting NFL viewership as being the best it has been in six years. Also, according to SBJ’s John Ourand, television ratings jumped in 21 of the NFL’s 32 markets this year.

Yet the SBJ numbers show that the Steelers saw a 10% drop. The only teams who witnessed a more significant dip were the Bears, Giants and Seahawks at 14% each and the Texans at 18%. All of those teams lost at least 10 games and missed the playoffs.
The point of all this being that Stiller Nation may not be as loyal as we like to think. The Steelers could easily slip into obscurity if this rebuild takes time. On the plus side, that likely means less prime time games.

I read that yesterday. Thought it was interesting that 1) The Steelers would trade their starting QB right after winning the Super Bowl because of a little rape, and 2) Mike Singletary had the power to cancel such a trade.

The first assumes the Steelers enjoy a moral high ground (Steeler Way only applies to scrubs), they don't. The second assumes anyone cares what Mike Singletary thinks, especially in his first or second year as the 49ers coach.

Probably not the best way to phrase that.

No, I phrased it correctly. Steelers Way applies to scrubs, not franchise QBs with rape allegations against them. I'm not saying he shouldn't have kept playing, particularly with no court action ever taken. But the Steeler Way extends to the appearance of impropriety and a lesser player would've been shitcanned (see: Chris Rainey).

So, I think the story is probably garbage because it hinges on the premise that Pittsburgh was going to deal the multi-SB winning QB in his prime because of some non-litigious sexual assault allegations. Hahaha. Singletary says it was a done deal and only his veto stopped it.
GTFO.

Is there a timeline of when this supposed trade was negotiated and agreed?

I agree with your premise. I didn't mean the context, I meant the words you used, "a little rape". Maybe it's semantics but I really don't think there is such a thing.

@skullman80's team finally makes it back to the NFCCG and he's already getting too big for his britches. Kupp is going for 200 and three tuddies

Neither do I. What I'm saying is I chose the phrase as a commentary of the Steelers' inaction on the situation. I think we're on the same page here regarding the seriousness of sexual assault.

Great tribute from Pagano and MM reference at the end (from Hawk, surprisingly. I think he is a wrestling fan?)

Way to leak false info to the press to throw other teams off the scent. The old razzle dazzle.
