Also, not sure if this works here on all skins but this was my sequence:

canal on my fourth, which is the only way I could've gotten 'banal.'
I didn't realize at first that you could use the same letter twice which is what took me so long.

I thought the rules page wasn't an example, but a clue so I spent 5 minutes trying words what started with a W and contained an L.

Green is in the word at the right location. Yellow is in the word but in the wrong place. Yeah, the directions are a little confusing.

that was cool. got it on #4. same as above - i thought the initial example was a hint to start and used those letters

Same. Still got it in 4 tries even after wasting my first two guesses with the above tactic

This game is hard when you are dumb and have never heard the answer word before

Man, I love games like this. Got today's with the last try.

Barely in 6. Got only one letter in my first 4 attempts:

I got it in 4. Got lucky with getting the first two letters on my first guess but had too much choice for the next two

I feel like so much depends on the first guess. If you guess a word that doesn’t have any greens or yellows then you’re up **** creek

If you smash five common letters with it, you're in good shape I feel like. Because we don't use another four or five letters...so now suddenly you're in a vaguely 16-letter situation after one guess...because words with z's or q's or whatever are usually pretty easy to identify...
