Nice... people can finally realize yuengling is nothing special once it's easily available.

I enjoy it, but I agree a lot of the Yuengling love in this state is nostalgia/PA pride.

Many years ago, Coors was similar to Yuengling in that Coors was only distributed in the western states and wasn't nationwide. People would bring back cases of Coors from west-coast road trips.

Wasn't that part of the plot for Smokey and the Bandit?

Yes, it was. They were smuggling Coors.

I was always a big fan of Newcastle Brown Ale and was quite disappointed with the formula change. Cigar City Brewing Maduro is now my go to replacement. Absolutely fantastic.

Same regarding Newcastle. Did they change the formula recently, because the last time I had one, I thought it was noticeably watered down. This was at least a couple years ago though.

Yeah I had one a couple years ago and my only memory of it was that it tasted like crap.

Heineken bought it in 2008 and started brewing it in Holland in 2017. Started tasting different then but in February 2019 Lagunitas took over brewing it in Chicago and added hops to the formula and it’s just a mess.

Have I mentioned I love that Voodoo is doing beer delivery?

Order their Foeder-aged Lager and their Oktoberfest. Anxious to see how good they are. Yet to be disappointed by them.

Also if anyone has any other leads on Pittsburgh places that deliver beer, I'm all ears.

Might have to stop by Voodoo here in State College to get something. Any recommendations?

I can't say I've ever had anything from them that was a miss in my book. If you haven't been before, I'd start with their standards:

Good Vibes - Flagship IPA
Gran Met/Voodoo Love Child - Tripel style, Love Child is Gran Met with fruits added
Hoodoo- 7 hop IPA
Killapilz - Hoppy Pilsner
Wynona's Big Brown Ale - self-explanatory
White Magick of the Sun - Witbier brewed with coriander and peppercorn.

In looking at the State College tap list, I can't say I've had any of the seasonals yet (but am waiting on the two I mentioned). I had Batch 1 of the IPA, but it looks like they're on Batch 4 so I'm not sure the difference.

When December/January roll around, I definitely recommend trying Cowbell. Nitro milk stout, really smooth.

Went to Harper's Ferry brewing this weekend. (very tip top of Northern VA, right where VA, WV, MD all meet) Amazing view's from the outside, overlooks the Potomac. Solid beers.

Is that new? I was there last year and don't remember it at all. The real hit of HF is the john brown wax museum

I don't know how new they are, but they are up with the Adventure Center above the bridge. LOTs of outdoor seating with different views. Mostly the bridge or up river. This is from the site it is upriver.

The hill on the left is Virginia, the hill on the right is Maryland, the buildings straight forward are West Virginia.
