This seems like a shark jumper. If someone billed it as sour cherry 7-Up, I’d probably believe it. I can’t think of a way to use it for cooking, but also not a drain pour. Can’t win ‘em all...

Stopped at Voodoo earlier... Tried the Big Black Voodoo Daddy. Yum. Was pretty smooth given the abv and was thinner than I'd expect from a high abv stout.

These seems like a sustainable technique for experimentation:

Wild Heaven Beer
3 hrs ·
Our Brewmaster, Eric Johnson’s sour program is built on patience (it is a virtue after all, ya know). Single ingredients added to French oak wine barrels filled with a golden sour base and left alone for up to two years creates endless blending possibilities.

We’re releasing the next in our [Wild] Wild Heaven series this Saturday, March 17 at noon! A strawberry and mint wild ale, Laissez Fraise is a delight. Try it on draft with us here, and take home 500mL bottles for $13.

For Lassiez Fraise, we selected a handful of barrels that received fresh strawberries and a smaller number which had received fresh mint for blending. The result is an unexpected mingling of subtle, beautiful flavors unlike anything we’ve ever made. Hand bottled and numbering under 300 in total, this beautiful wild ale is ready to share and enjoy.

Pizza boy sunny side up just may be one of the finest coffee stouts I've ever had.

Extremely intrigued by this. What's the difference compared to the standard issue in your opinion

They should just ditch the other non-nitro thing and continue this for good.

Sea Quench Ale is a serviceable grocery store sour. It went well with fish tacos last night. I’m indifferent on a second purchase, however.

I enjoy it quite a bit...it's great for the summer, I usually get the pounders.

Agreed. I’ll drink it in the summer, but there are certainly better options out there.

I never pay attention to prices at the grocery store, so I honestly don’t know whether it’s a good value. But I’m there to buy food and don’t care about cost in that area of my life - it’s the source of life. :)

Finally got a case of Nugget Nectar yesterday. I think it was $42, which is a pretty decent price IMO.

I know there were more Slovaks than Czechs who moved to Pittsburgh, but are any of the boutique breweries there even taking a stab at Czech pilsners?

Related: Czech beer is some of the finest in the world and it’s annoyingly barely available in the US.

I recall having a pint of that last year and was very underwhelmed with it. I'll drink it, but I'm not buying it again.

I finally thought I found my "go-to cheap" beer. Exceptionally good, in 16 oz cans (so you feel you actually drink something), and "cheap" because sold at a major discount at Sam's Club.

But, yesterday a store clerk at a local Sam's Club liquor store told me that even though that beer was one of their best sellers, one of the top managers from the nearby Sam's Club headquarters ordered Sam's Club to CANCEL all orders - because that arrogant bastard was offended by the beer's name...

A buddy of mine is a Czech Pilsner fan. If you get any recommendations let me know.
