I went against my own beliefs and bought a pumking on Sunday at Southern Tier. It was good, definitely better than last year's batch, but it's way too early for pumpkin beers. The beer sounds interesting, but it's too early for pumpkin beer.

I think about 3/4 of the Oktoberfests that I try taste like pennies, and the 1/4 that don't, yeah, I fill up quick. Of course, that's what they're supposed to do, so no faulting the beer there.I think Oktoberfests are the only beers that I don't look forward to. They're usually too filling and make me feel bloated after a beer or two.

Fight air pollution by drinking beer!!
https://news.expats.cz/weekly-czech-new ... czech-newsPrague Pedestrian, billed as the very first beer to fight air pollution, is currently being promoted through a competition that invites co-workers to symbolically hand over their car keys for a chance to win a fridge full of the new brew. (And, perhaps, actually hand over their keys by carpooling or taking public transport).

Tried some good wheat beers the past couple days...
Celis White, which iirc is kind of a direct descendant of Hoegaarden, tastes a lot like it, so perfect for a hot day.
Karbach Weisse Versa. Hybrid hefe/witbier. This is right up my alley.
Live Oak hefeweizen. I don't know if I'd call it the second best hefe, but it's a damn good American made hefe for sure.
I'd say any wheat beer fans should try these give the chance.
Going to hit up some Houston breweries today... Karbach, St. Arnold's, and possibly 8th Wonder.

Due to various situations, only ended up hitting Karbach. Was a little annoyed that their only option for beer was $15 for a 16oz glass, 2 classic tokens and a specialty token... They also are supposed to have an $11 9oz glass w/ 3 classic and one specialty token...
I would've much rather had the latter, but they claimed they were out of the 9oz.
Tried the Big and Bright IPA which was solid, heavy on grapefruit. Their Oktoberfest was ok, nothing special, certainly didn't want a damn pint of it.
Used the specialty token on Hop Delusion which was actually pretty good... Simcoe and Mosaic.
Others tried the Lemon and Ginger Radler and Blood Orange Radler. The latter was preferred.

Celis White is back in production? Excellent. I'll have to see if I can find any.
Pierre Celis was the guy who founded the Hoegaarden brewery and revived the Belgian White variety of beer after it had gone extinct in Belgium. Celis White is basically Pierre's original recipe for Hoegaarden, and IMO it's a better beer than Hoegaarden.

Platform is coming to the Burgh!

I love their brewery. It's #2 behind Brew Gentleman for me. BG brews better beer, but Platform has one hell of a taproom and general ambiance.

Not a huge Oktoberfest fan, but Sierra Nevada’s offering this year is really tasty.

I was at Chip's in OBX and they randomly had KBS on tap. Never had it before, it was as good as advertised.

I swear I had never heard of White Claw seltzer before going to the beach this week, and I've seen at least a dozen women with it since then. Is that the new vogue "healthy" beverage?

I've seen some commercials for it. Like Shyster said, there are better ways to go about it, but I guess if you're looking for convenience it's a good low calorie option.

And when I say good, I only mean in the fact that it's low calorie. I haven't tried the stuff.

I just picked up their overpacked variety. 3 each of 2x smash, tangier, 8 days a week, Citra hopped live, and nu skool. $22 for those 15 beers is beyond reasonable to me. Not a bad one in the bunch...quite the contrary imo.Southern Tier has hopped into the NEIPA game with a special Pittsburgh brew. It's pretty good.

Grimm Mosaic Pop!
I had a minor religious experience. Even for Grimm, this was amazing.
The mosaic hops are front and center, and the balance is perfect. I could drink this anytime.
Highly recommended to anyone who likes mosaic hops. Don't be deterred by the Berliner Weisse designation... This is not your ordiary BW by any means.
I suppose if you are looking for sour, you might be disappointed since this really isn't but goddamn it tastes good.
