I got take out lunch from the gas station*** today and noticed that they have five beers on tap for growlers. Nothing of interest right now, but I thought that to be an intriguing development in the beer market.

*** It's a really crazy place: fried chicken, two kinds of fried fish, fried pork chops, brisket, oxtail, collard greens, lima beans, rice, mashed potatoes, gravy, mac & cheese, corn bread, etc.

I go to Hal's for wings every few wednesdays. I get a dozen wings and a beer or two. one beer costs more than the wings.
How are the wings?
They're not bad. Its mostly a reason to go hang out with a couple friends for an hour or two on the way home from work.

I am 100% convinced that the best food in the world is made at gas stations in the South.

Lol, so true about the solo Whole Foods run. We're going to have to start coordinating these. I rarely go out there that I don't get a "where are you?" Text before I get home.

Also Hal's hot raspberry wing sauce is absolutely amazing. Their bottle shop is just way overpriced. I otherwise really like that place.

Yeah, in general, they seem $3-$5 more expensive than Jiggle for bombers.

I've also been into the new beer section in the Waterworks Jiggle a few times. It's pretty good, nothing special, though the table section is quite nice.

I've been in a few times, haven't seen him. The section isn't particularly grand, but i'm sure he's working with what he's got.

Gouden Carolus Ambrio. BSDA, very enjoyable. Interesting fruit pop aroma, but mellower with the esters. They make some solid stuff.

Stout at the beach? wat?
THERE'S NEVER A BAD TIME FOR A STOUT
And if you are at the beach, have a Lost Souls stout at the Ocean City Brewing Company at 56th street.

Just had Noire de Chambly. It looks like it would be dark, but it tastes like your typical Belgian/wit.

Ordered a Coronado Orange Wit next, mostly so I could make the Blues Brothers "Orange Whip" reference.
