BEER

Been spending a lot of time in Cincinnati on a project lately and while most of the country has great craft scenes these days, I’d put theirs up there with anyone’s. Enjoying a Taft’s Gavel Banger IPA right now. Sonder out of Mason makes some great stuff, and across the river in KY the Braxton Jubilee Holiday IPA at 8% is strong in more ways than one. Brought a nice haul home for the holidays.

I'll be taking wagers in what lasts longer in market Square. This stupid idea or the indoor driving range

Five iron is a gold mine. This place will be gone in months. I went there the other day, the concept is asinine. Nobody orders their beer based on the price.

Enjoying some fine Anchorage product obtained from Tavour. First time drinking something with the phantasm powder, Interesting.

I really like especially the Anchorage stuff but with the price of a can from Tavour being the better part of a good 6 pack locally, I think it's got to be more of a sometimes thing. I get a case going and it's a total money pit.

Mad elf grand cru came in small 4 packs this year. Much nicer than buying one giant bottle.

I’ve already gone through two 6 packs of Christmas ale. So good.

Ithaca’s Fuggly Sweater is good too.

I had Old Man Winter at my mom's side's get together. It was, apparently, a lot better than I remember it being.

I don't usually drink seasonal beers and stick with boring old traditional pale ales like Sierra Nevada, but I had a GL Christmas last week and it was very good.

Sixtel of Anderson Valley winter solstice almost kicked. Tis a good seasonal.

Also had the breakfast coffee stout and double west coast IPA from Brew Gentlemen, both very solid, the stout in particular.

Nice, yeah heard Cincy's really got it going as far as food and now beer is concerned.

Looking for suggestions for beer storage. I've mostly been using old boxes to store beer but it's a PITA because I have to open **** to see what is in each box.

I'm also getting to the point where I have "too much" to store in that fashion.

In general, as far as coffee stouts are concerned, how effective is the coffee at doing actual coffee stuff?

0% effective. The amount of alcohol typical in those stouts is more likely to put me to sleep

That's what I figured. Had a bit of a placebo effect last night, so was like...wait, that can't be right.

Also, may I direct you to the Brew Gentlemen's Deep Breakfast coffee milk stout. Delicious and only 4.2%
