Had fresh squeezed again today. Confirmed that I really like the beer, but not "the best" as some say. I do like its drinkability, great ipa starter beer.

Also had Deep Ellum coffee stout, sooooo good.

NBR, but my sister used to work at a place of McKnight called Monticello's. Is it still there? When I was young(er) I loved their spinach rolls, but haven't gone back in like 10 years

Thanks, MR. Going out for a few beers tonight. Might be the night I make Kraftster proud and pick up a Saison. Is it "say-zon" or seye-zon" If that makes any sense

I see that Goose Island has switched to bottle caps for their Belgian bombers. It was confusing after I peeled the wax of a Matilda.

Let me know how you feel about it.

I used to say seye sson because it just seemed easier to me, wasn't trying to be a try hard but I figured I'd ask to clear it up. Another annoying question, is tripel "triple" or "trip-ehl?".

Who's the dude that lives around St. Louis that was accessing Boulevard Saison Brett on the reg? He needs invited. It'll come to me.
JoseCuervo! It just came to me.

What happened to that guy?
Didn't he move to Dallas or something after school in STL?

I've always found it to be overrated but we'll see; it's been a while.

Haha, that's good to know. I won't jump to that conclusion about those who say it that way then.

Tripel=triple
Dubbel=doo bull (or double really)
Duvel=doo vull

Most useful advice I've heard in a while, don't know what that says about me.

I just feel like its up to how they say it. People read words differently, and I'm sure it would be easy to distinguish if they're trying to be a try hard. Never knew that about Duvel so, thanks. I haven't had that beer before and it's on my list to try

Was there tonight. Looks like they got a few new ones in the Belgians section. I didn't pick up anything, but would guess I saw 5 or so new labels on the shelves, including Brooklyn Black Ops in bb.

Now enjoying a Chimay blue.

:sigh: it's just not the same in there. The mixed six section is getting worse and worse.

Yes. Though I'd probably call that "individual bottles for sale"--taking six can get quite expensive.

Hal's is the worst mix six. What a rip off that place is.

Ya, it's pretty impressive, slapneck, I'm with you. Always lively in there, too. Great to have it around.

I go to Hal's for wings every few wednesdays. I get a dozen wings and a beer or two. one beer costs more than the wings.

I was only in Hal's once; did like the selection of aged belgians they had on sale. The fridge was pretty standard, imo.

Man, so true. I can kill an hour just lazing around the aisles and plotting.
