BEER

I'm assuming the rye and the barrel aged were separate categories? I love rye beers. There's a certain dirty, mucky, earthy, spicy flavor to them. They are a nice break from time to time from the citrus, floral IPA regular line-up. Speaking of which, I would think that Rye of the Tiger should be coming out from Great Lakes soon.
Yeah they were separate categories. There was also a sour beer there that was interesting but I didn't really like. This was my first experience with rye beers and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised.

I've just opened an Old Thumper. Lovely dark red beer, quite dry but actually quite refreshing.

I love this thread but I don't expect I'll be able to get my hands on much of what you guys drink.

Anyone ever try Duclaw Hop Continuim or Founders Blushing Monk? Thinking of trying one or both later at Mad Mex.

Whole foods has blushing monk on too. I'm waiting to see if it's one of the beers at The Sour and The Funky before I pay the steep price for it.

Blushing monk is supposed to be fantastic.

I just finished a weyerbacher Sunday morning stout, it's terrific. Big coffee, nice chocolate, a little hot on the back end. It's no bcbs, but for the price, it's pretty damn good & definitely worthy of the talk.

I really enjoy the dark red style, like Rodenbach Grand Cru, Maudite, Affligem, that cut across BSDA and dubbels; plus even some Flemish Reds

There are loads of American Ambers in this category that tend to be too hop/fruit/bitter for my jib, but are crazy popular.

Blushing Monk had kicked :( so trying the Hop Continuim. If blood orange + ipa sounds good to you, you'll like it. If not, you won't.

Solid.

Is the white ale their Holy moses? I never figured out why they stopped bottling that. Looking forward to getting this and hearing your thoughts

Last night at dinner I had some great beers on draft: Chillwave, grapefruit sculpin, Brooklyn blast, & Oskar blues g'Knight. It was a delightful fish sandwich dinner evening.

I just left tired hands. The beer was good. The food was great. Rarely does brewery food impress me more than the beer, but the Abruzzi charcuterie we had was great, their in-house bread is off the chain, and their pickles were incredibly well done--like high end pickles sounds like a strange thing to say, but they were just great

Just picked up some Firestone Easy Jack IPA. It tastes like beer made out of orange juice, very strong citrus notes, but a short finish. Tasty.

The Threedmont pickle was out of control. Pickled parsnips, carrots, and radish served in a ramekin with bagna cauda. Not a large serving, but for $5, its ballin' the bagna couda was one of the best I've ever had
