I like that it has a time stamp of a few minutes ago.
No wasting any time after work.

I'm on vacation and kids are out shopping, I'm taking advantage of the peace and quiet (minus hall and oates sweet Christmas sounds in the background)

Tonight: East End Moonstomp.

Berliner Weisse is not really my thing. This is surprisingly drinkable considering that... but the 750mL bottle is just silly.

I really like that style, but it might be a fans only type of thing. Kind of like St. Anger.

Full Pint Festivus, IMO, is what a winter beer should be. Too many companies make their beers too bland or have flavors that overload and conflict with each other.

Festivus tastes like a gingerbread man. It's perfect.

I was slightly off... the Moonstomp was "only" 22oz. Still 10 oz. too much of that style for me. There was a time when it would have been 22oz. too much for me though, so I suppose that's progress. :P

Friend of ours had a great fundraiser idea for Special Olympics. Everyone had to contribute a case of beer worth $30+ and a $10 donation. She is mixing them and returning a variety pack to everyone today, so you get a nice variety case just in time for the holidays.

I put in a case of Anderson Valley Winter Solstice. Figured I'd get a couple back and it would be a chance to try it, so I went with something I hadn't had before.

Had the Evil Genius Santa!! I know him! yesterday. It's a seasonal release but is described as a saison. I found it to be pretty enjoyable. The style worked well in preventing it from becoming too spiced. The spicy yeast did a nice job cutting through in that regard.

Would also note based upon last two visits to Ho1kB that they are serving beer way too cold these days.

I don't think I have ever had a beer that I thought was better than mediocre from them. I will have to try this.

I don't think I've ever had a beer from Evil Genius that I enjoyed. Must be whatever they use to make it, because I always get the same crappy aftertaste.

I tried Stone's 24 carrot golden ale tonight. It was surprisingly pretty darn good. Nothing ground breaking but I'd order it again.

Aftershock oatmeal raisin cookie ale
Rogue Santa's private reserve

All delicious, but too much Christmas spirit packed in one night...

The purple monkey whatever is decent, but yeah everything else from them ...it's not terrible, but it's not something I'd go out of my way for if I saw it on tap. And even with the purple monkey, that's getting bumped to the back of the line if Sweet Baby Jesus is available.

Went to East End with some friends for trivia tonight. Monkey Boy is a staple and I will drink that all day. Had the Beagle Brothers Rye Porter, which was also pretty good.

Sculpin last night, never disappoints.

Also had founders breakfast stout on nitro, soooo good. And I also had an island scotch that started with a t, I can't remember due to the hangover.

Currently enjoying brown sugga from lagunotas. Really good flavor balanced by piney resin hops

Just poured the (first glass of) the Saison Dupont. This will keep me occupied for a bit. :)

Earlier picked up a Sweetwater 12 pack, which I'm looking forward to trying, as well as an Ommegang VP that was on clearance... had three 8 packs with 2 each of Hennepin, Witte, Rare Vos and Fleur de Houblon.

I'm good for awhile. :)

Had Deschutes The Stoic last night. I enjoyed it. Not as hot as I expected at 11%. Less boozy overall than I expected and Has more fruity esters than I normally get in quads. Almost more like a boozy tripel than a not-boozy quad. Oaky whiskey barrels and caramel. Nice carb. Knocked me on my butt after being up late the prior night.

Planning on Almanac Saison de Brettaville tonight with the pulled pork that's been on all day. Hoping this is a special one. Might do the DuPont Avec Bon Veux after dinner.
