Stone Delicious IPA -- Wow, definitely one of the most "out there" hop profiles I've ever tried. High IBU, but the El Dorado and lemondrop hops (which I can't recall having before) are really prominent. Definitely can taste the citrusy aspect of it. Very in your face, but I enjoyed it.

Blue Moon Cinnamon Horchata Ale -- I am only drinking this because my Mom left it here from the weekend. Oddly....it's not terrible? The spice profile is actually pretty drinkable, much more so than something from Magic Hat, for example. If they made this a bit heavier, could be a decent winter warmer profile.

Eww. If cinnamon had an anus, and it ate bad Mexican food, it would be the blue moon cinnamon horchata. They should've called it cinnamon ring.

So a beer that I said was bad is better than a bad beer that you said was good? Is that some weird defense?

First beer exchange at work today. The Founder and CEO of the company were so for this idea that they rewrote a section of our employee handbook to bring it into compliance with the exchange.

This month is Stouts and Porters. Since I organized it I picked my favorite style even though they are now out of season. I brought:

Sweet Baby Jesus
Breckenridge Vanilla Porter
Bayshore Oyster Stout
Saranac Caramel Porter
Left Hand Nitro Milk Stout
Brooklyn Stout
Evolution Rise Up Stout (4 pack)

Looking forward to what I'll end up with. Some dude brought in a 12 pack of Guinness. Now, I like Guinness, but this is a beer exchange. Come on bro...

How does something like that work? Do you all bring in a 12 pack of something then pick dodgeball style what you want?

Btw, the best of those that I've had is the Left Hand Milk Stout.

Happy National Beer Day!
Tuesday marks 82 years since the Cullen-Harrison Act, which legalized the sale of beer, went into effect on April 7, 1933.

I encouraged people to bring in 10 different beers so we get a good variety but they are welcome to bring whatever they want. We will then pick numbers at random and go at it like a draft (no pun intended).

The Left Hand is fantastic. My favorite of the bunch is the Rise Up. I love me some coffee stout.

I agree, but as I said, since I organized it and it is my favorite style (stouts) I picked it. Plus you can find some good stuff on sale because they are trying to get rid of some stock. Next month will probably be Ales of some sort. Maybe IPA.

I was just thinking a 6 (or 7 if you don't want to keep what you brought) person beer exchange would be perfect. Everyone bring a 12 pack of beers, then everyone gets 2 of each one. Might be something I'll start up.

We decided that if the number was above 10 people we would the ask people to bring in, for example, 6 beers for a 12 person exchange. A 10 beer max made sense to us. I spent about $21 on 10 beers and will hopefully get some good stuff in return.
