Even the Bengals pulled their QB1.

I really dislike this staff.

Did the Steelers really call a timeout down 30+ points with under 2 minutes to go to get the ball back?

Got the tree up, lights on, and rest of the outside stuff done. Shame I missed the game.

Was driving home from my Dad's and listening to the post-game on the radio. I think Charlie Batch is pretty decent in his role there, but characterizing keeping Ben in as 'heroic' knocked him down a few notches on the credibility scale. Shame.

The only thing I can figure is that the protocol they've chosen dictates that Ben never comes out, period. He was still throwing (and taking timeouts) down 31 with less than a minute to play in a game where his statline was ultimately 24/41 263yd 1TD 2INT. Whether this protocol exists simply to appease his fragile ego I'm not sure. The flip side of it can be that they have zero desire to develop Rudolph (or Haskins) further and are pot-committed to a future QB as soon as next year, which is great if true.

Tomlin was asked why Ben was kept in the game and he simply said “we needed the work.”

Ben was asked the same and gave some long winded BS answer about how players perform and battle at the end of a blowout shows their true character.

Does Ben practice on Wednesdays yet? That would show character too.

After the pick 6 immediately after Minka's pick, I flexed to a more competitive matchup.

This season has all the makings of a sub .500 finish. Isn't that a Tomlin streak?

I would've loved to seen the yinzer meltdowns if CBS flexed in market to another game lol. My guess is that never happens though in any market.

I feel like I'm on the fire Tomlin bandwagon. I just don't know who to replace him with.

The team's performance was embarrassing, but their lack of composure was even more so. Tomlin has lost control of this roster. Remember, this is the same coach that TRIED TO TRIP AN OPPOSING PLAYER DURING A GAME TO PREVENT A TOUCHDOWN. The culture he has played a large part in creating is rotten. There's zero senior leadership outside of Cam Heyward, imo. We have two underperforming diva WRs.

The GM can go too, for his utter failure to prepare any kind of transition plan for life after Ben. How you don't draft a somewhat promising QB over the last 4-5 years to be groomed to succeed beyond me. It's easily a fireable offense for most franchises, but the GM/ownership are too bought into the Steeler Way nonsense. So they've kowtowed to a guy that could have retired in fashion after the great seasons he had recently, but is such an egomaniac that he is sabotaging the team as he tries to build his hero narrative.

We are competing hard with the Browns to be the new joke of the division.
