UCLA shouldn't even have made it out of round 1. Still not over it

With UCLA loss, it's clear that it will be more than 25 years since the last time Pacific Time Zone team won the NCAA Championship (Arizona in 1997).

I've been doing this bracket thing for a very long time. It's the earliest that my bracket has ever totally died. I got *one* elite 8 team and that was Villanova who I had losing in the next game. Pathetic.

I go back to my pre-tournament post and at least I was right about two things -- don't trust the Big Ten and that it might be the most entertaining tournament we've seen in a long time.

Arkansas -- Caution signs everywhere with this team. They're capable of getting all the way to the Final Four (yeah, I said it) but also very capable of getting whacked in the first round. Vermont is NOT to be slept on, they're a very good team. However, they haven't faced this class of team since December and when they have, they haven't fared all that well. It's easy to beat up on the Maines and UMBCs of the world but the SEC is a different animal. Hogs against UCONN will be a very entertaining game but I think Arkansas is the more disciplined team, especially at the defensive end. Plus, Musselman can easily outcoach Hurley. So that likely takes them to a matchup vs Gonzaga. I had a hard time picking that game when I got there in my bracket. I think the Hogs have a real chance against the Zags provided that they put their focus at the defensive end. If they get into a running game, forget it. Slow it down and frustrate the Zags bigs and there's the opportunity.
How'd I do, @Tomas ?

Great, as always! Thanks!!
Frankly, everything after Sweet 16 is a bonus. I am happy with this season - both football and basketball...

It's too bad that Duke and North Carolina couldn't be a national championship game.

I hope Duke wins to send Coach K off. And you also get the added bonus of people crying rigged.
I hope Duke and UNC both eat a big fat one

And, as luck would have it, TODAY is the day I have tickets to see Hamilton for the first time! :)

So, I'll turn off the phone, enjoy the Broadway magic, and maybe later I'll find out that Razorbacks made the Final Four for the first time since I moved to Fayetteville. Or maybe not. 8-)

(It would be funny if the cast found some way how to incorporate the result of the game into the show... )

All the talk about how fun the tourney is with upsets and we’re going to get a blue blood final four. Fantastic

On one side of the bracket, yes. The Duke-Carolina matchup is inevitable. Of course, if Manek and Love get frustrated by that Peacocks zone…. But on the other side, don’t discount Bill Self’s history of losing to big underdogs in the Tourney. His teams have lost to the likes of Bucknell, Northern Iowa, and once in an Elite 8 to VCU. Today against Miami is the exact type of game to match those others.

ACC didn't get the love it deserved after the big ten beat up on em in the challenge at the beginning of the season. 5 teams in, every one of them under-seeded except Duke

Feels like Wake really got shafted the more this tourney goes on. I jest with the ACC chant, Pitt stinks and I don't really root for conferences (besides MACtion). But seems like they just got the conference wrong all year

Something about the acc (perhaps the absolute garbage at the bottom of the league) really messed with the computer rankings. The eye test for this Carolina team (the conference record, the talent of the starting 5) clearly does not scream "8 seed." Hell, TCU had a losing conference record and had a 9 seed.

Same with Miami and it's 10 seed.
