They got this guy, and some yet to be named prospects.
Dude is 28. What the hell took him so long to get to the MLB
This whole return looks like trash. This guys looks like if Brandon Waddell got a call-up and looked competent for half-a-season.

The other guys, one is a former first round pick out of high school that has slowly been trending towards flameout since being drafted, and the other is just a Carmen Mlodzinski clone that serves no purpose to bring in.

Many experts suggest having at least 1 catcher on the 40 man
Bring back Perez for under 1mm. Problem solved.

Two things I am surmising from this trade.

- perhaps they are bullish on Davis's ETA

- They don't plan to give us a watchable roster in 2022

I dont have a problem trading Stallings at 31 given his value is probably at its peak.

But

Is it really worth it if that value is another Steven Brault plus 2 fliers? A good veteran catcher should be beneficial to a young pitching staff right?

Making a big play for the 2023 1st overall pick.

Better hope the new cba doesn’t establish a lottery to deter tanking.

Yikes, what the hell is the PBC up to with the Stallings trade? It's Henry Davis time already?

And to think, just a few weeks ago, the consensus opinion is that they would be the only pro team in the city on the upswing.

“Consensus”.

This is a team that knows they can take as long as they want to become competitive. Fans will come back when they win again. I guess 2020 spooked nutting and will be even more risk averse than expected

Not sure why they couldn't splurge and spend 4.5M on Shreve and Stallings but ok

Just relegate this team already. I’d be interested in seeing how many MiLB teams have a larger salary than the Pirates right now

Hell, how many players make more per year than the entire Pirates roster?

Has to be double digits, right?

And I assume that's with Kuhl's 3+mm expected arbitration number. So, we're under 30.
