Not much to talk about here for the big league team. They will resign Yoshi. They will sign another trevor cahill. they will sign some randos to fill out the bullpen. They are going to ride or die with the ready-ish prospects they acquired over the past few months and give one last shot to scrubbenies like newman, moran and tucker.

Another offseason of no name moves, @Troy Loney attempt to talk himself into how it will be different, and plenty of actions by other teams.

I actually enjoy that part about Troy. Because there's always hope, even when there's no hope.

I honestly don't think troy is all that optimistic. you people are confusing "following the minor league system and observing who will be promoted" with "guys that will get called up will be good"

Can’t recite my posting history off the top of my head, but I don’t believe I have felt any optimism since 2019. 2018 was the year they made the archer trade, the year Dickerson, Polanco and marte were mashing which ended with the infamous Polanco kamikaze slide. They ended 2018 over .500 and there was hope for 2019. That was the end of hope though, 2019, that was the bell breakout and the Reynolds debut, but also Vazquez, taillon injury, demise of archer and the emergence of meadows and glasnow in Tampa.

So basically, we’ve all been in the same boat since the Vazquez arrest. But I apologize for expressing undue optimism from 2016-2019, it’s clearly caused material harm to a few of you and I feel genuine sorrow for your trauma.

I liken optimism to Troy's post when he says things like if the Pirates get a reliever or a starter in the off-season, and they end up with damaged goods, or what Ted looks like after he gets re-stuffed.

There's nothing to build around for any meaningful actions to make sense

The record could potentially be worse next year. If they are still on cruise control with the roster, they could struggle to reach the 2021 win total. They don't have anything resembling a starting rotation.
