2021 Penn State Football Season Thread
A little surprised that this hadn't been started yet.
I'm representing the board in Wisky this weekend. Have always wanted to go to a game at Camp Randall and this game has been circled on the calendar for about 3 years. Luckily, I didn't draw Solheim Cup duty so I booked a ticket and easily got a ticket for the game. Not a big fan of the 11am local start but that's the price you pay when you're a slave to television money.
As for this year's team, there's plenty of ??? everywhere and it starts with QB. Now that Clifford had a full spring practice and summer workouts and fall practice with the new OC, will he get back to where he was in 2019? There is a ton of talent and speed on both sides of the ball but to me, the biggest key will be the offensive and defensive line. If both lines do much better controlling the line of scrimmage than years past, this team could have a very successful season. Guys like Dotson, Castro-Fields, and Brisker didn't turn down the NFL to come back to mediocrity. They know they sucked last year and they're out to change it in a big way. As for Wisky in this game, you usually know what you're gonna get with them -- corn-fed offensive line opening holes for a ground game that constantly churns and a pop-gun QB who shouldn't be trusted to lead a comeback. However, this year's Wisky QB seems to be a different than the ones we're used to (minus Russell Wilson) so that extra dynamic will need to be accounted for.
As of this writing, Wisky is a 5 1/2 point favorite.

Excellent writeup!! I'm excited about the new coordinator, so cautiously optimistic.

8-4
Losses today, Ohio State, one of Iowa or Auburn and then a stupid loss like Indiana or Michigan State.

I think they win today and disappoint us later in the year. But that’s just my gut feeling.
I don’t think this is a national championship playoffs team, but hopefully with the recruiting classes we have coming in, it’ll turn into one.
The biggest question for me right now is qb. If Clifford can put together a good season, this could be a really good team.

I think 8-4 as well. @Wiscondin, vs MAC Champs, vs Auburn… some way to start. Can’t fault the OOC this year.

Arnold Ebiketie, who is a transfer from Temple. He's been outstanding so far.

Our offense is still the weak point of this team.

Penn state is clearly the inferior team so far. Need to get something working.

Clifford and the offense still suck. And the defense is already winded

Wisconsin’s kick returner is going to get himself hurt.

What a discouraging first half. I get that Wisconsin has a great defense but I really felt like we'd see some improvement. Just a brutally boring offense to watch.Penn State 3rd and Outters, am I right?

I’m not even sure what they’re trying to do on the offensive side. I’m not sure they know either.

Clifford is giving me serious Hackenberg vibes. Just can’t hit easy passes. I miss Trace.

Didn't realize the kicker also missed a 24 yarder. Maybe recruit decent kickers, Franklin.
