He's feeling down, has played like poo, people railing on him left and right.......'release' a statement about retiring to garner, what, sympathy/adoration/nostalgic praise?......go out and beat the division leaders......throw all that ish out the window.

It's all in the 'look at me' playbook of drama Ben...and that playbook is extensive.

Next year is going to suck one way or another. I'd rather have him come back for one more, with a drafted successor holding the clipboard for a season. But there is a 0% chance that Ben would be a good mentor so maybe that's not viable.
