"And maybe we could have drinks there too, ya know? Like nothing super hard but maybe some beer. Beer is fun. And if we got music and beer, we ought to have some ladies there too. They can be professionals ya know? Dancers and all that. That'd be fun."

My trust in this front office and coaching staff to guide a rebuild/retool has been completely eroded. Their decision making over the past couple years has been baffling. They delude themselves into thinking that they’re always a contender so they need to keep Ben and JuJu and trade for Minkah and trade up to draft Bush and they need a RB in the first round because we’re a game breaker away from winning a Superb Owl, yet their solution to the LT spot was to hand the spot to a guy with a blown out knee and one game of being something other than “tackle eligible”. That doesn’t even take into consideration that they actually offered Lev Bell what he wanted and he was too dumb to sign.
ding ding ding

I don't mind the Steelers having a 2-3 rough seasons as a part of a rebuild/retool. What they are doing is setting this franchise back a decade. Their adamant refusal to admit that the run is over is negligence.

Problem with this tweet is that I don’t think Tomlin is that guy.

Like I said last night, Heyward is the only leader on this team. Will miss him when he's gone, and I hate that he will never get a ring here.

Tomlin ran up to a receiver who just caught a first down to give them a high five late in the 4th quarter on Sunday. He's not that guy.

I feel the same. Great dude and leader. Deserved a better situation than what Tomlin has let this team devolve to.

That's a long way to go to read a series of excuses for why it's okay that Bush sucks.

I think there is definitely truth in what Bince is saying, but the effort level is bullshit.

Bush stinks. But I guess maybe it gives me a little optimism that he might not stink at some point if they hold onto him. I think they need to come up with a phantom injury to IR him the rest of the year

I'll move this over here as counterpoint evidence to those assertions:
I don't think there is much pressure for him to 'lead the defense' when he has Watt and Cam on the field in front of him and Minkah behind him. GTFO.

I have a take Re: tanking. The uncomfortable truth is that it's hard to be bad enough to "tank" and actually turn it around. There's a reason the same 10 teams basically take turns drafting in the top 10. There aren't farm systems when you can time up a group of studs coming up to the big leagues. It's a 53 man roster that you can add 7-10 guys in the draft a year and if you're lucky 5 of them make an impact. So I'm not totally on board with just flat out trying to suck. Because it's a long road back. The ideal scenario if you're going to "tank" is just one bad year with no QB but keeping the rest of the roster intact like the Pats did last year. And basically what the Steelers are doing this year. They just ****ed up and beat the Bills and Browns or they'd be on schedule

ulf is on the Colts/Manning plan. Except Luck ended up being a dud, careerwise.

If we could come out of it with a Luck equivalent, sure. Who else has really pulled off a successful tank in the NFL? Cinci maybe, AZ? Otherwise, the teams that suck every year suck every year. They don't climb back. The Browns thought they did it. But it's hard to recreate a winning culture imo

Eagles went 6-10 before their SB. (Sorry shaf)
I feel like the Seahawks did something similar but I don't remember. Maybe I'm on that vibe because they got into the playoffs with a losing record.

7-9. And they drafted Carson that year 2nd overall with Cleveland's pick. Maybe they need to fleece one of these loser franchises like that
