Bigger things are on the horizon of course, but some kind of crappy recruiting news last night as WR Camden Brown decommitted from Pitt. Brown is from Florida and apparently started drawing a lot of interest from FSU, along with *checks notes* South Carolina and Arizona (?). This wasn't entirely unexpected and the thought is that he wanted to stay home, so he'll likely wind up at FSU.

2017: 35 catches, 307 yds, 2 TDs
2018: 10 catches, 69 yds, 0 TDs
2019: 38 catches, 331 yds, 1 TD
2020: 10 catches, 100 yds, 1 TD
2021: 61 catches, 715 yds, 10 TDs

I knew it was poor, but this honestly hammers home just how bad the TE position was for Pitt in the previous four seasons. In 2018 and 2020, it was statistically a complete non-factor.

I know of complained about this in the past, but it was really hard to turn on a random college game and see two giant, nightmare match TE's running around (and seeing pitt getting tortured by those kind of guys) and wondering why pitt doesn't have one.

Best part of the TE production is that Bartholomew has been great. Actually feel confident that the TE production will continue into next season as well.

Ballers and/or fckfaces:

Pitt is playing the Wake Forest Demon Deacons tomorrow for the ACC Championship. For those that have a foggy memory, pitt has won 0 conference titles outright since joining the Big East in 1992.

Super panthers are a 3 point favorite to win this game. Apparently Wake's defense is mud. Pitt's defense is mud, but had done enough good things against good-ish teams to make me believe they will be reasonable this game. 10 sacks in the past 2 games against good QBs is encouraging.

Since CB97HCPN does not disclose injuries and would probably have summarized the battle of bull run as "a few guys getting knicked up" we have no idea what receivers will play. I doubt mack is back, but the WR depth has really been challenged so it would be nice to see a fresh face there. Obviously Izzy would go a long way to improving this team's chances to win.

Overall, i have generally been a miserable turd when it comes to pitt. This has been the trend since roughly the todd graham era. But these games have been outrageously fun to watch and are more fun to watch when pitt has the better qb and finds ways to win games. I am *happy* to be a pitt fan at the moment.

Sidebar: Super panther volleyball is the 3 seed overall (out of 64 teams). They will pound the UMBC retrievers (unlike the basketball team) tonight and play UPS tommorow at 7:00, which is a rather inconvenient time. UPS had a pretty good season but an ass record against good teams. Kayla Lund has had an awesome career and deserves a final 4 run. Pitt isn't as good as texas or UL, so an NC is probably out of the question, but a final four would be nice.

1) Also, the super panthers men's soccer team plays at 5pm tomorrow in the Elite 8 of the NCAA tourney for a second straight trip to the College Cup. They will face ND who they lost to twice this year. ND hasn't allowed a goal in like 8 games. So it will be tough, but another important game on top of the volleyball match tonight/tomorrow.

2) Izzy is supposed to be back tomorrow.

3) Your excited and happiness just f'd over the Pitt football team. Thanks for losing the game for us before it even is played.

Wake sucks.

Before their game against Wake, Clemson talked all week about emphasizing the run. Clemson's O-line is ****, but they do have a couple of good backs. So they told Wake what they were going to do all week, and Wake couldn't do ****. It's obvious DJU had been hurt/forgot how to football, and few healthy, impact WRs on the roster...so no air attack. And Wake still couldn't do anything defensively.

DG66, the issue is Pitt can tell WF what play they will run on every down and still put up 40. And WF can tell Pitt that they will RPO all game and also put up 40.

Clemson is one of the few ACC teams interested in playing defense. This game is not for those interested in defense.

When Pitt played Alex Smith and the Utes in the Fiesta bowl... I knew they had no chance.
When Pitt played Clemson in the ACC title game... I knew they had no chance.
If they were playing Clemson again tomorrow.. I'd honestly think they wouldn't have that great of a chance.

The stars have aligned though with Wake. Pitt's defense is mud sometimes, but Kenneth Shane Pickett and Addison will carry this team to victory tomorrow. I'm not worried at all for some reason. H2P!

Can go either way. The WMU and UM games were disappointments but Clemson, Tennessee, Vtech, VA, UNC all good omens. Wouldn’t be surprised if they lose in heartbreaking fashion or if they blow the doors off Wake. A win though and I’ll be a happy Panther fan no matter what the bowl game brings.

All of my graduate finance students would be getting an "irrational boss bonus" (if the boss is happy, everybody is happy) of 0.2% if Pitt beats WFU tomorrow. If that bonus ends up being paid, this would be the second time in the UofA history (the first time was 2009 Steelers Super Bowl).

(Sadly, the Spring semester triggers always are Steelers Super Bowl or Pitt Final 4 or Penguins Presidents' Trophy...

I didn't see it. But looking at the gamecast.. Pitt went up 4 vs UVA with 23 seconds left and lost in regulation. Sick
