If UNC gets a TD here it's going to get real interesting.

It’s crazy how predictable it is for big games. The formula hasn’t changed in years.

Also these announcers are ridiculously cringe.

The defense is literally doing what it always does. Doesn’t change, gives up big leads. Narduzzi **** sucks.
These coaches are bad.

Would also help if your offense would score points in the second half

Good win. Important win. Terrible coaching. Offense did nothing to adjust to UNC going to zone. No underneath passes. No quick hitters. No blowing the top off to open up average routes. All while running a hurry up offense that kept leaving 25 seconds on the play clock when the ball was snapped. Slow things down and giving Hammond a **** carry every once and a while and time expires before UNC gets the ball back for their tying drive.

Yeah the hurry up in the 3rd and 4th when they should have been grinding clock made no sense.

If you ever wanted to explain to someone who wasn't a Pitt what it's like being a Pitt fan, you'd show them this game. That first quarter was perhaps one of the most perfect first quarters of football that they've ever played under Narduzzi against an ACC or P5 opponent. At the very least, it was a welcome change for a team that has started slow too many times this year, and too many times in the past in big games. By the time the second half was through, I was openly questioning whether Whipple and some of the other coaches were trying to get themselves fired during the game.
Thank God Lucas Krull found his hands when he did, and that Mother Nature picked an absolutely perfect time to pay us back for the Bud Foster Festival a couple of years ago.
1. Defense played lights out. That was probably their best game of the season from start to finish. The front seven put on an absolute clinic through the first half; the only blemish was Mathis accidentally falling and allowing the long TD. They forced UNC to keep an extra blocker in for most of the second half and that negated the pass rush, but I thought they did an outstanding job containing Chandler and Howell on the ground. Sirvocea Dennis had one his best games as a Panther. I also thought Campbell, Hallett, and Kancey had terrific games.
2. For as much as we were justifiably concerned about the secondary, they only gave up three receptions longer than 15 yards - Green's long TD when Mathis fell down, Green's second TD, and that 46-yd sideline bomb that Downs had to lay out to catch. I thought they played well as a unit against a passing defense that was expected to carve them up all night. Open field tackling was a big improvement as well.
3. The offensive game plan in the second half was absolutely bizarre and almost overshadowed the win for me. Abanikanda and Hammond each getting just one carry in the second half before overtime is 100% absurd. Was that about showcasing Pickett for the scouts? Because honestly, that's the only way I can make it make sense.
And that's not me trying to criticize Pickett. He's their best player, and they should keep the ball in his hands. Normally I embrace the idea that you need to keep scoring points to win. Within the context of this game, though, and given the effectiveness they've had this season going run-heavy with the lead in the second half, I just don't get it. They ran the ball down CLEMSON'S throat to put that game away, and Clemson UNC's defense is absolutely not. That opening drive of the fourth quarter should've been heavy doses of Abanikanda and Hammond and taking the play clock to 1-2 seconds before every snap.
I'm thrilled that they won and that they're still sitting here with 8 wins & a chance to just about lock up the Coastal with a win next weekend. But man, that stupid, over-thinking, absolutely asinine coaching in the second half just has me feeling like the coaches were lucky to have come away with the win there.
