Probably not an NFL player so he might as well come back and win a national championship next year.

Good call on his part. Good to have him back. Good all arou

I guess Bright is the only one we'll miss. Pitt still came out winners with transfers and super seniors

Pitt was the 13th best team in football this year. How about that. Fun stuff, and next year is looking equally as exciting.

This is a bummer. I was excited for him. But DL is just not something I'll ever really worry about as long as Duzz and Partridge are around

Yeah, that sucks. But like you said, Dline is one position I'm not too worried about right now.

I wonder if that is correlated to the return of Deslin Alexandre. I'd prefer to keep as many guys around as possible, but it isn't that huge of a deal.
CB97HCPFN's record with 4-star prospects isn't very good.

OK so I went through the effort to do a tally. The results: not gr8. 4 star prospects according to rivals since class of 2016:
2016
Ruben Flowers
Kaezon Pugh
George Hill
Amir Watts
Damar Hamlin
Hamlin was very good. Watts was good. Gets a pass with Hill due to medical situation. Pugh and Flowers both busts.
2017:
AJ Davis
Charles Reeves
Paris Ford
Not a lot needs to be said about these three characters.
2018: Mychle Salahuddin. 12 tackles this year for North Carolina A&T. Is that good?
2019: Davis Beville. Not great.
2020:
Dayon Hayes
Rashad Battle
Javonte Royal
Hayes, by all indications, is going to be a good one. He is at least doing what you would expect an 4-star to do, which is work his way into the lineup as an underclassmen. The other two still have time but haven't done much except sit behind guys like Eric Hallet
2021:
Nahki Johnson
Elliot Donald
Naquan Brown
Brown just left. Donald should be able to bench press a small car by the time he is a senior. Still hopeful for Johnson.

It’s interesting that the guys who leave go on to do nothing. They were misses by the entire recruiting industry as well. Flowers played at Independence CC and the University of Findlay and he was the most successful. Pugh went to Howard and never played. Charles Reeves played 3 games at YSU before quitting or getting kicked off the team. Salahuddin went from RB of the future to collecting tackles against RMU and Charleston Southern as a DB. Book is obviously still out on Brown, and a lot can change during one year in a college strength program, but 6’3”, 205 lbs. wasn’t going to get it done as a D1 DE. Some guys just aren’t good enough.

So Frank Cignetti back as OC? I dig it. Also,
sucks because we need LBs.

I like the Cignetti hire. Not blown away by it, but it's a very solid hire that makes a ton of sense given the makeup of this team over the next few years.
I thought his BC offenses in 2020-21 were pretty solid, especially when Jurkovec was healthy for them in 2020.
His Pitt offense in '09 featured Stull at his best (2600 yards, 21 TDs, 8 INTs, 65% completion), Dion Lewis rushing for 1800 yards and 17 TDs, and a passing offense that was built around Baldwin and Dickerson. In 2010, he had Tino in his first year, Lewis and Graham accounting for 2000 yards rushing and 21 TDs, and a very balanced passing offense that saw six different players catch 24+ passes (including three different RBs).
He's an experienced play-caller and QB coach in both college and in the NFL. His players from those 2009-10 Pitt teams loved him (if Dorin Dickerson's Twitter feed was any indication), and he's a pretty solid recruiter as OCs tend to go.
This has a "don't upset the apple cart" feel to it but I think he's a good fit for the program as it is now, and I don't think that's a bad thing given everything that's coming back.

Thanks to bowser for keeping Addison around for one more year. I hate your sales tactics but I appreciate the effort.
