I saw a coach - I think it was Geno Auriemma - who was asked about the transfer portal, and how it works for basketball. Something like 1/3 too many players in the portal for spots on DI rosters. It isn't sustainable for basketball, although there is more roster space for football. It sucks to lose players, and it's frustrating when institutional culture won't allow for transfers (Dabo does not like the portal, so doesn't generally look there for new players. Clemson has lost several players over the last few years to transfers, though).

A source close to Addison said late Friday night that there's "no preordained destination" for the receiver and that he could remain at Pittsburgh. The source said that Addison isn't looking for an NIL deal, and any move would be tied to his professional development.

Few things are better for professional development than $2MM from boosters.

Specifics are still a mystery. Based on rumors, USC is offering Addison $2MM, house, car, etc. Hill and Kancey are being courted by Miami. ITKs started reporting a couple hours ago that Pitt matched USCs offer to Addison. Kancey seems to be staying based on that tweet. No word about Hill. None of these three have entered the transfer portal yet. Deadline to be eligible to play next season after transferring is midnight tonight.

I mean. USC isn't even allowed to talk to him til he's in the portal. Of course we all know this stuff happens, but at this level and with the money involved, you'd hope there are some sort of repercussions

You would hope but their won’t be. He has high school connections with Caleb Williams. Went out to “visit him” during spring break. It’ll be written off as an innocent coincidence and the NCAA won’t do ****.
