Addison and this #MACtion guy might be an upgrade over Addison/taysir Mack. Losing Stoval kind of sucks. Hopefully 10 and 81 improve and stay healthy.

Addison, Mumpfield and Sons, Wayne, Barden, Bradley and the Alston kid that redshirted is some serious weaponry. And Bartholomew. Pitt arguably got the best QB and WR in the portal. Without an OC, or QB or WR coach

orgot about Wayne. Very important to have him back. I would imagine they do have an OC picked (why else (other than his hot girlfriend) would Slovis commit?) Rumor floating around the peach bowl was that it was going to be a recycled yinzer in the form of Frank Cignetti. I'd be happy with that pick.
Speaking of the peach bowl, it was a good time. Pitt fan turnout was good. Good tailgating options outside Mercedes Benz Stadium. Hot dog and a bottle of water was $3.85 (including tax) in the stadium. $2 for a soda WITH free refills WITH self-serve soda fountains sprinkled throughout the stadium. 41,000 people over all, which sounds about right, because it seemed about as full as Heinz field during a mildly important game.
Weird vibe in the sense that it was a classic pitt style loss without the residual disgusting feeling of it being a same old pitt loss.
It would have been nice to get that win, but the big picture is that the team is looking to be still very good next year with a half decent schedule.
After watching some NY6 games, i think i'd be ok with patti in the future. I think i was a bit more impressed with Beville than a lot of other people. His second to last completion of the last drive of the game was a 24 yard ROCKET to Addison. I dont think anyone in the stadium expected him to have that kind of mustard on a ball. I think he's a bit more mobile than people were giving him credit for. With time, he might not be bad.
But overall, one nice thing is that nard dog has gotten recruiting to the point where most guys don't have the luxury of time to prove that they aren't bad. They need to be good right away or they lose their spot.

Even though the Peach Bowl was an exhibition game, I was salty for a couple days after. They were the better team for most of the game. The crowd shots didn’t help either. Seemed like every down they were showing the Pitt face on all the Sparty fans.
I don’t know what Narduzzi did in the 4th quarter, but MSU QB1 went from scrub to hero a little too easily. Even his receivers started to catch the ball. Did they soften up on their coverage? Is this typical Sparty magic to come back in the 4th quarter, coinciding with Pitt…doing Pitt things?

I think they softened up coverage because the defense was either hurt or tired or both.

Time of possession:
Pitt 25 minutes
Sparty 35 minutes
Pitt held the ball for 5 minutes on during its second possesion, which ended with patti breaking himself. That possession ended with 8 minutes left in the first quarter. After that, it was

This was a big factor IMO. I mean, until the last drive, Pitt only had 1 first down in the second half. The defense played extremely well IMO, but they just wore down, and a lot of guys were getting banged up. At some point, you are just going to fall apart. Plus Sparty made some extremely good plays on top of it.Time of possession:

It looked to me like Barth got the first down the play before that awful 4th and 1 run. Wish they woulda challenged that.

Cam Bright to the transfer portal. He was one I was really hoping for the extra year more than anyone. LB is the one weakness at the moment imo

Weird. Dude is a locked on starter next year if he stays.

I thought he'd leave for the NFL. Wasn't expecting this outcome. He got in a fight on the sidelines at the Peach Bowl so maybe he just doesn't like some teammates and wants to get away. Oh well

Keyshon Camp declared for that draft. That seems optimistic.

What's up with these guys "declaring for the draft" that don't have any eligibility left? Chase Pine did it too. I think they just all want to tweet a cool looking graphic for the clout
2021-2022 Super Pitt Panthers Sports Thread
The appropriate response to Pine's tweet is "Well,...yeah" (or perhaps the Curly Bill "Well...bye" gif from Tombstone) because unless I'm missing something, he was out of eligibility. I don't know if we'll get the same sort of redundant announcement from Phil Campbell, but I believe he's out of eligibility as well.
With Pine, Camp, and Campbell done, the Pitt careers of the 2016 class are finally in the books. This was Narduzzi's first full class and looking back on that list of names now, it feels like a lot longer than six years have passed. Ruben Flowers, Thomas MacVittie, Chawntez Moss, Henry Miller. I remember half the fanbase nearly imploding when MacVittie left.
The class produced three NFL draft picks - it's highest-rated player by Rivals (Damar Hamlin) and two of its three lowest (Patrick Jones and Rashad Weaver). Maurice Ffrench and Bryce Hargrove also got NFL looks.
The class had five 4-star players, but three of them - Ruben Flowers, Kaezon Pugh, and George Hill - I don't think ever saw the field for Pitt. Pugh transferred to Howard and I think left football after another year or two. Flowers transferred to Findley. Hill generated a lot of buzz in that class but unfortunately never played due a medical condition diagnosed at the start of his freshman camp.

Overall a pretty good if not gr8 class for CB97HCPN. Camp, Watts, Matthews, Hamlin, Weaver, Jones, Reynolds, Campell, and Ffffrench were all solid contributors. I guess you could add pine to that list too. Coleman would have been useful if Nard dog understood it is OK to use a nickel corner on obvious passing downs, but here we are, 6 years later hoping that linebackers and eric hallet can properly cover those plays.
Looking at the PA class for that year as a whole, we did pretty well for ourselves. Would have been real fcking nice to have khaleke Hudson that year.
The 2017 class is basically wrapped up too. Looking at it, only Houy and Warren and Drexel (and maybe deslin Alexandre) will return for their covid year. That 2017 class is truly all over the place. Kenneth Shane Pickett and Twyman were all americans. Mathis and Pinnock were good. Then you have the Last Chance U guy, Paris Ford, AJ Davis, and Charles Reeves, who liked playing video games more than he liked being awesome at football. A lot of flotsam and jetsam in that class.
