I wouldn't call it cheating but the next time a defender lays him out, you can't be too mad.

Offer extended to FSU transfer QB Chubba Purdy. My guess is we’ll see another transfer QB offered. Maybe even two more. I think the potential is there to have another great season next year, but QB position is the key.

Thinking this because Addison is back next year? That TE should be a playmaker and that Izzy can be a primary back in the offense?

Also, what's the deal with that backup they have now who looks like Pickett, is he any good?

Patti would be the next man up and the guy that looks like KSP. In his limited time, he has seemed like a guy that is good enough to play P5 football. I'd say his ceiling would be pre-2021 Kenneth Shane Pickett, which isn't exactly a compliment but not an insult either. Pitt has a slightly tougher schedule next year, so expectations would be back to normal with patti at the helm.

Let's put it this way, if the pirates ran pitt football, they would definitely let Patti, Beville, Nate whathisname, and Secretary of the Treasury Yellen duke it out. And the priates would be happy with whatever replacement level performance they got out of the QB spot. But this is college footbaw in 2021, go get a transfer and the best guy you can get.

Next year's offense should be pretty interesting. Hammond and Izzy seem like they will be as good as an RB duo in the ACC as you will find. Izzy has the upside to be a very good RB. on the negative side, I expect Bad Davis to use his covid year bonus, which will be annoying to see him take carries from the two good guys.

TE should be a strength. WR will need a few guys to step up behind Addison. The Pitt offense wasn't nearly as prolific without Mack complimenting Addison (not to mention a few other injuries). Krull is gonzo but Bartholomew figures to be good. But I think we all agree its better to have two good tight ends instead of one. Offsenive line is a huge question mark because there are several seniors on it, and who knows if those guys will seek out the NFL.

I won't comment on the defense because the names change but the problems stay the same.

Patti has looked fine when called into action. I just don't think he's gonna have this team competing for ACC Championships. Beville has never been given a real look so who knows with him and Janet Yellen seemed like a clear #4 in the pecking order this year. As far as the rest of the team goes:

RB: Izzy, Hammond, and Okayish Davis all return. Todd Sibley has the option for the Tre Tipton experience.
WR: Top two producers in Addison and Wayne return. Jaylon Barden was a highly touted recruit and Jaden Bradley got some surprise playing time as a freshman this. At least one of those two, or an incoming recruit, needs to step up and fill a roll. As always, the Vardzel brothers return so white WR grit is covered.
TE: Bartholomew's breakthrough is huge and he'll likely have to contribute extensively in the passing game. Kyi Wright and Kaymar Mimes have played in games before. Grant Carrigan also exists as a blocking option.
OL: At some point the line has to be good, right? Right? Keldrick Wilson is the only guy whose eligibility is exhausted. Houy, Drexel, Warren, and Minor could all come back. Plus Goncalves, Zubovic, and other underclassmen. A capable line exists somewhere in this mix.

DL: Alexandre is eligible to return. Baldonado is fantastic. Kancey, Morgan, Hayes, Green, Bentley, Danielson, Green, plus recruits like Johnson, Ford, and Donald. The DL is going to be good for years to come.
LB: I think a lot of the strength for this group hinges on Cam Bright returning. Pine was a fine backup but Campbell and Petrishen proved to be excellent this year. Sirvocea is an absolute stud. Kamara is noticeable when getting playing time. Leslie Smith has been touted by the coaches but has had injury issues. George looked good in an increased role after that one dude pissed off like a dodint after the Miami game. Lots of experience and potential with this group.
DB: Most room for improvement, as always. Mathis can return but other than that everyone should be back. Hill, Williams, Devonshire, Battle, Woods, Tallandier, Hallett, Mack. It's a young group with a lot of experience. They just need to be better.

Bad Davis has taken his COVID year to James Madison.

But he’s only a junior and we’re years away from enjoying his COVID year.

Shocky could actually return as well, which would at least lend some more experience to the WR group. Will be interesting to see what happens. Super Seniors will count against the scholarship limit next year. If all 12 return and the recruit class stays intact, with no transfers added, Pitt would be five over the limit. I imagine there will be a lot of moving around after the coal victory.

TIL that the artist formerly known as ok davis is a true junior. So he will 100% be back next year to run two yards into the line then fall over

I don't hate Davis. I also don't hate what HCPN did with the RB situation. But next year will be different. You no longer have a true freshman and sophomore as your best backs. They should have earned the trust of the coach, and should carry the load next year. Davis can be insurance in case one of them gets hurt.

Not sure if HCPN will recognize this genius, though.

Davis is a very good pass blocker. In an offense that throws 80% of the time, that's valuable. Hammond got Kenny destroyed a couple times in the last two weeks. That's probably why he didnt normally play until obvious running situations to close out games. He would have hurt our Kenny. Then once Izzy went down, necessity required him. Hammond's #1 priority this offseason should be blocking. If he figures it out, that's a hell of a 1-2 punch.

There are talks of the whole OL coming back but Warren is the most likely to go to the NFL. Even if he does, it should be a decent line again. Honestly, of Patti, Beville, Yarnell or a transfer can succeed in that QB spot, it should be another successful year. There aren't many holes. Maybe LB if Bright leaves

Based on rumors he is either leaving for Nebraska or has family issues going on.

Rumors seemed to fly that he'd be done after this year but not staying for the Peach Bowl seems odd. Oh well

If that's the case then understandable. **** cancer.
