If it keeps happening I'd call the power company to check your lines. They may not be aware that there's a problem if it is only to your place.

Reporters who go out in the middle of a hurricane to report on the hurricane. Take your own advice and stay the **** inside, dummies.

People who don’t pull all the way up in the drive thru lane. That 10 feet you are keeping from the car in front of you is holding up productivity.

My daughters were involved with a play at a local theater with their shows scheduled for this past April. Obviously those were canceled but during rehearsals the director arranged to have custom shirts made and printed. We paid $50 in cash for four shirts. Before the last rehearsal we got an email from the director that the shirts were ready and she would mail the shirts since production was shutting down. That's the last we heard about them, they never came in the mail. I've posted in the Facebook group and messaging asking about the shirts but no reply. I emailed the director again about the shirts but now her email bounces back as invalid. I tried messaging the stage director and emailing her and no reply from her as well. I don't have their phone numbers. I'm out of ways to contact anyone that would know anything about the shirts.

I know its $50 but I'm ticked we never received the shirts as promised. I'm more ticked about the complete lack of communication and basically being ghosted.

My daughter's dance class basically ended when Covid started, and even though we pre-paid for the entire year, they refused to give us a refund stating that they couldn't financially afford it. I get it, and I can live with eating the cost in order to 'support small business', but I wanted my money refunded for our recital (the venue, DVD fee that we were all forced to pay, etc.). Won't be using them ever again.

We paid $600+ for my son's school trip to Washington DC last spring. We got $100 of it back, but still waiting on the rest of it from the tour company. I call bullshit on that, but it is what it is.

Also, same school and same kid, we're still waiting on his yearbook to get printed.

The Yuengling 5k ripped us off in a similar fashion. Congrats, you got our 2020 entry fee. It came at the cost of getting what would have been two entries annually as long as we live here.

Yeah, I don't get those moves. If those single fees are the difference between open and closed, it was only a matter of time before it was over.

We had a similar thing happen with a local furniture shop right after we moved into our first house. First, they told us they would prefer payment in cash if that was possible (it was not); then they told us it would take about a week to 10 days to get the piece from their distro center; 2 weeks later we called them and they said it was 'backordered' and it would be another week; 10 days after that we called them and they said it would be another week; 10 days later, we called one last time and when they said it would be another week yet, I told them to cancel the order and refund the purchase, to which they said "oh, we don't do refunds". We then called the credit card company who reversed the charge immediately. At no point did the store ever proactively reach out to us. 18 months later, the place was out of business.

OK, after I shamed them on Facebook they announced refund checks would go out next week. Nice.

overgrown baseball fields make me sad. especially ones i used to play on
I have good news to share. The church (where I went to preschool) across the street from my house has a softball field I played on up to around 2014ish - grass took over the infield since no one has used it since then. Neighborhood kids have been playing on it lately and have bases in and the weeds are dying and the infield dirt is coming back. Good to see. There is hope
