Is it too much to ask for some warmer weather? For ****'s sake, come on already.

Honestly, I'm just happy the sun is shining through our windows today. Of course it is supposed to be cloudy by the afternoon because God forbid we get one full day of sun this month.

We're going through the by now familiar spring drought over here.

Looking at the 10 day forecast on weather.com right now is soul crushing. One day above 60 in Somerset and one day without rain.

People on facebook are starting "Adopt a senior" groups for 2020 students who are missing out on prom, grad parties, etc. They're asking people to send cards, gift cards, etc. Anyone else think it is ridiculous?

I happy with its staying cold. It's less expensive for me to heat my house than cool it.

The electric bills are going to be impressive this summer if we all have to stay at home all day and keep the A/C running all day long.

You read a tweet on Twitter and see "A thread 1/11" then ten other tweets that are reply to each other to finish their thought. Twitter wasn't meant for those kind of posts, start an old fashioned blog/website or Facebook or something.
I don't have twitter but I will randomly click a tweet posted on here and this stuff always annoys me

As a geek who didn't do to prom or have a grad party, I say: "Suck it up."

Talking on the phone is right up there with catching one of those creepy little basement centipedes on list of things I freaking hate.

I have like 10 people I talk to on the phone. Everyone else can go eat a big fat one.

Talking on the phone with anyone is my last resort especially at work. I don't even have a phone at my desk. Worst case we use teams/skype/slack to chat via "phone", but 99% of things can be done via either just chatting or an email.

My wife has been doing the same. Sometimes she forgets to unblock her number or the patient she is calling doesn't accept blocked calls... this morning a patient called her at 7:25am.

those that refuse to use the phone do you send an email and hope it gets responded to?

99% of our communication is done via slack/teams. Everyone is to be available that way when they are working or what not. We are a large engineering group though so people are used to talking that way. Plus if you need to get on a call you can make a call within teams or slack easily.

Only if it's non-urgent. If I have a pressing need for something, I'm picking up the phone (or IM'ing them).

Teams is also our preferred mode of communication.

Biggest issue with phone calls other than I hate talking on the phone, is that it's not documented. I called you specifically and we talked about this. Well, I don't remember that conversation, there's a lot going on.

Teams has things I don't like but one thing I do is when you post it on the board for your team channel or in a chat with that person- it's there for good. So you can circle back to the conversation.

A lot of my communication is by phone because my role is largely about "controlling the message" and we don't want a paper trail with those discussions.

If a phone call ends up with things that should be in writing, I am quick to fire off a summary email as soon as the call ends.

I'm not liking that our normal weekly project meeting went from 30-40 minutes to 60-90 minutes. Normally we'd ask each other questions in the office and avoid much of the discussion that's now taking place during the phone call.

Same. I have a pretty high level job at my company, but I don't find email inundation to be a problem. I tend to be able to speed through them pretty efficiently.

I love our Bissell SpotBot for cleaning up messes on the carpet, furniture, etc. However, whoever designed the hose designed it deliberately short, so that it would eventually tear at the seam near the end. I know this because it has happened on all 4 Bissell's I've ever purchased.

Happened again on my latest one, which is a different model than the previous 3. Bissell doesn't sell the hose for this model, claiming it's different, and tells me I need to go through a service center to have it replaced. So I go downstairs and grab my old one that does have a good hose and take both apart. Same exact **** hose, minus the color. Up and running again in 5 minutes.
