hah.

I ordered something for pickup at Lowes and it wasn't ready. I went back and grabbed it, brought it up to the pickup counter and had them scan it out.
I’ve done that quite a few times at Lowe’s, as well.

PA turnpike tolls are a g-d disgrace. $5.70 cash to go from pgh to Donegal.

back in the day (2007-2009), it cost $30 roundtrip to get from pgh to Norristown. it is now $54 round trip, with ez pass and $76 without ez pass.

that is outrageous and confiscatory.

Given the choice I'll usually take 30 to Breezewood instead of the turnpike.

It's faster to go 50 miles in a covered wagon in 1842 than it is to go 50 miles on Route 30 in 2018

This. Route 30 to Breezewood is a breeze (no pun intended.) After Breezewood it's tortuous is you're trying to make decent time.

When the power is out and the traffic lights aren't working, the intersection effectively becomes a 4-way stop sign.

Not surprisingly, many people do not understand this.

People have a hard time understanding how to operate at a 4-way stop sign, so this doesn't surprise me.

When my now wife, girlfriend at the time, was living in Pittsburgh and I was in Bedford, I'd take 30 every chance I'd get. Loved that drive.

I was referring to Rt 8 between (at the least) Duncan and the intersection with GetGo and Giant Eagle last night. Someone must've knocked out the power with their car because there were some cops on the other side of the train tracks.

3 lights. I think I was the only one who actually stopped.

As others have stated, 30 from Breezewood (or even Bedford) westward is a delight until you get to the Greensburg area. It is terrible from Chambersburg to Philly though, save for the highway portions in Lancaster and York/Chester County bypass.

It's amazing how many cars I see ignore the "Road Closed, No Left Turn" sign at N Neville.

You'd think the giant road closed signs in the lane would do the trick.

The Turnpike Commission is expected to raise tolls rates every year until 2044 .

Under Act 44 , adopted in 2007, the Turnpike Commission is to make annual payments to PennDOT to fund non-turnpike highway and bridge projects and provide financial assistance to public transit systems. Through April, the commission has paid $6.1 billion to PennDOT.
In 2044, it will cost almost $10 to drive 1 exit from Irwin to Pittsburgh.

At that point no one will drive on it, so they'll be forced to raise the prices higher. Genius.
