As an aside from this, women (or men) who wear flip flops almost 24/7 and have the nastiest, grossest, yellowing cracked feet largely because of it. No one wants to see that.Women walking in flip flops. Pick up you god damn feet ya **** Clydesdale.

I've spent my entire professional life in industries where it is entirely normal to wear flip flops (and shorts) to work.

Been working from home for over 2 years now. I rarely wear shoes of any kind.

We live in a world where people earn six-figure incomes talking about things on YouTube. Quasi-professional camera rigs, cardioid vocal mics, dedicated cameras, LED lights with filters, green screens, etc.
And yet, as we approach month 6 of lockdown and work-from-home, we still have to deal with people calling into sports talk and news shows using ear buds, not knowing which end of the phone the camera is on, speaking from their patios on windy days, or from their kitchen with oodles of reverb. I'm not going on so much about an athlete or a one-time guest, I'm more on about people who call in to shows on a daily basis. "Professional guests/analysts", as it were. Jesus, people, act like you mean it.

Had a MS Teams meeting yesterday and someone was using the computer audio and mic. Buy a Bluetooth loser.

I use my computer's mic. I have a pair of headphones though for audio.

I hate to admit it but I do this. I don't understand how to fix it. Lifting my feet up to not make any noise feels weirdWomen walking in flip flops. Pick up you god damn feet ya **** Clydesdale.

I use my webcam's mic and computer speakers for all of my meetings, and the audio quality is excellent. Somebody should probably just mention to that one person that their quality is poor, because there's a chance that they simply don't know.

Removing my feet from the hot, sweaty constraints of shoes and socks has made my feet look better than ever. It's terrible for my plantar fasciitis, but aesthetically and comfort-wise, it's great.

Have you used orthotic sandals to help with the PF?

I haven't. I just use the fancy ones that have the beer bottle opener on the soles.
When I'm going to be on my feet for hours (such as on a shoot) I throw on my Asics.

Will save some folks a Google:
3% use it. Lets see if the media respects their cultural norm.Despite the increasing use of “Latinx” in the news media and by some politicians, the gender-neutral word to describe people of Latin American descent is not the preferred term among that group. Less than a quarter, 23 percent, of those who identify as Hispanic or Latino have even heard of the term “Latinx,” a Pew Research Center survey found.

Yeah, it definitely seems like most Hispanic people think that it is a dumb word made up by dumb white people. Will save some folks a Google:

I did see there is another push to degender the Spanish language, mainly by RadFems.

Not really the right thread for this because it's not exactly grinding, but: I could go my whole life without reading another discussion about which geographic area has the best pizza and be perfectly content.

"Hey man, you going to Bismarck...? Gotta get yourself a bowl of Corn Flakes, and some wheat toast from Original Jimmy's...they toast it North Dakota style, dude, it will blow your face off!"
Shut up. I don't have to do any of that. Your dumb food is not special.
