Are these completely separate requests or is it scope creep on a single request? My biggest pet peeve in the email world is I have one client who is probably the absolute best in terms of providing the information we need proactively, but insists on combining requests in a single thread. I sort/folder-ize my emails by matter, so having a one thread that covers multiple topics is really annoying.

I'm a fan of individual threads. Especially in PRSort of like creating a separate thread for a topic being discussed in another thread here.

Completely separate. For example, yesterday it was mockup copy for an email newsletter that's being sent this weekend, coupled with a request to review legal lines for a video pre-order offer (that is not on the newsletter). Are these completely separate requests or is it scope creep on a single request? My biggest pet peeve in the email world is I have one client who is probably the absolute best in terms of providing the information we need proactively, but insists on combining requests in a single thread. Nah. It's more fun to try and filter through four separate conversations going on in a single thread.I'm a fan of individual threads. Especially in PRSort of like creating a separate thread for a topic being discussed in another thread here.
People carping over this is one of the most bizarre things I've ever seen on here. The fact people would prefer a 15,000 post "general discussion thread" that is just a total mess over one thread for each relevant topic blows my mind.
You know what really grinds my gears...
I'd prefer a separate thread for each topic. When something happens at 8am and people talk about it in the general discussion thread for 8 hours, and then supermod comes in to save us from ourselves and makes a thread which completely forks the discussion it wrecks the discourse. Either approach is fine, doctrinally. But it would be helpful if the mod would move the posts from the general thread to the new one to keep the discussion orderly. I know you in particular have botched moving stuff around in the past and probably do not like doing it but it's the correct way to handle showing up hours late and making a new thread.

The whining that ensues after somebody doesn't create a separate thread for a topic is worse.

Yes, if it could become a learned behavior, that would be great. Once the damage is done, the only way to properly change it is to move all of the posts in question. Tough to find the time though.

Could always add some reliable posters into that unused green category.

I used to mod a rather larger phpBB board. It's not exactly digging a trench.

Dunno about that. Couldn't see the harm in having two active green's, though.

Funny this was brought up because I was just thinking about mentioning how I hate multiple threads for a similar topic. 5AF is actually one of the best forums I frequent that manages multiple topics among the community.I'm a fan of individual threads. Especially in PRSort of like creating a separate thread for a topic being discussed in another thread here.
In video game forums you have 10 people complaining about the same problem with only 1 or 2 replies to each. Combined that with other topics and the forum gets flooded with people basically talking to themselves.

That is understandable, but 5AF isn’t at risk of that. A thread for a trade or a recall or an injury is fine. We aren’t going to get 5 threads on how to fix 5-on-5 playFunny this was brought up because I was just thinking about mentioning how I hate multiple threads for a similar topic. 5AF is actually one of the best forums I frequent that manages multiple topics among the community.I'm a fan of individual threads. $5k @ Navy FCU. I had to initiate the transfer from my external bank to get around it, which I'm sure I'll have to do with a few others once my CDs start maturing. How low? I just moved $14k yesterday without a hitch.Financial institutions that have low daily ACH transfer limits.

I have nothing nice to say about Navy FCU.
