Garage doesn’t have a loaner?
It's a small, privately owned shop. If I asked him to drive me home, I'm pretty sure he would. I just hate to inconvenience him, and it's only like 1 3/4 mile so it's no big deal.

I just can't believe how high rental prices still are. I mean, I could get a truck from U-haul for less.
Wow 96. Not long ago i got cars for under 40

I rented the smallest uhaul box truck for a few days a few years ago when my car was down. Good deal

Yeah, if you're not going far the U-Haul pickup truck for $19.95 + mileage is a pretty good deal.

What's with the trend of watching people make a recipe, and then they sit down and eat it on camera? Seriously, who enjoys hearing other people chew food?

Looks like NTP has discovered the world of muckbanging. I just like typing/saying that word: muckbang

Wow I never heard that word but hearing people eat does make me sick

Also those Uhaul trucks/vans that say $19.95 actually start around $36 I believe. There are immediate taxes and other fees that get you well over $30 before milage.

I had to rent one about two weeks ago. It was $33.75+mileage, so about $40 out the door for something like 15 miles.

Yeah still a good deal just annoying. I refer movers to people all the time and people say 60 bucks? I'll get a uhaul for 19

I'm a dedicated National customer because first, it's either them or Avis for corporate rentals but I love that you get to pick your car. They usually have a good assortment so if I need something with 6-7 seats, I can get it, or if it is just for me for work, there's usually a nice sedan or something.

I do notice lately when I am booking personal rentals, there are no coupons for National where it seemed like pre-covid there was always a weekend free day out there. Going rate in PIT this weekend is $81 but with taxes and fees it's $109.

National, Enterprise and Alamo are all owned by the same company. Last time I rented, I needed a 3 row vehicle. Guy told me the only one he had was "in the Alamo lot so it has over 50,000 miles." I took it and it was no problem, fairly high trim Traverse. Nice ride for what it was.

Yeah, I get it.

In my case I was trapped. I rented a trailer to move my racecar from one house to another. When I got there my SUV couldn't work the trailer lights. So I rented a pickup real quick to get it done. When I got back to the place to drop it off we realized there was a fuse missing in my SUV. Lame.

didn’t have the cash to pay a $0.75 West Virginia toll. Figured it should be easy to pay it online

…and then I saw there’s a $5 fee for doing so. Are you shitting me? What a **** dumb state

I feel like a better question is:

It's 2023. Who tf doesn't have an EZPass by now

I don’t carry cash so I don’t have change anywhere either. Last time I went through a coin only toll, I just went through without paying. I figured theyd send me a bill in the mail like in PA. Never happened. Maybe I’m wanted in WV.

I did have one years ago but not sure what happened to it

The only time I would've used it was going to HHI, and they actually stopped collecting tolls a couple of years ago. The roadway was paid for, and it was costing them money to pay and collect the money. Novel concept. 😂

I honestly don't even remember the last time I encountered a toll road. Maybe the day we moved to SF and I crossed the Bay Bridge?

I suppose if you drive the turnpikes in PA and OH regularly (mr25?) they are worth having. I've taken the PA turnpike 3 times in the last 10 years so I see no need to sully my car with a sticker.

Tired: velcro sticker-ing your EZ Pass to your windshield

Wired: Holding it up as you drive through the booth and throwing it back in the center console

Lol, this is me/wife before I got sick of being the ezpass holder in her car and velcro’d it to the window. In both cars it’s practically out of sight behind the rear view mirror.

Ditto, I used to scramble madly trying to find it right before toll booths. With all the stuff near the mirror on the Odyssey I forget it's there now
