Going by the twitter handles they're embracing it. Not sure you can shame people that refer to themselves as 'chubs'.

Yes, these are full-blown crazy cat lady SJW people. And I also got a hearty chortle at the list of "backers" for that project. My goodness, that is as stereotypical a group of Twitter handles/people as you can possibly get.

Why would they? Fat people don't go to gyms.

As I get older, I hate this week more and more. **** dadholes setting off fireworks at 11:00 on a Sunday night. The best thing is, they set them off every 10 or 15 minutes so it gives you time to fall asleep.

Bring on the nanny state. Ban private sale of fireworks.

People around the block didn't even start until midnight on Saturday night.

Hey cha-cha, free reign on Wednesday to set off whatever the hell you want till wicked late. I don't even really care what you do before 11 on other nights from last Friday to next Sunday. After that- I gotta get up early to work. Knock it off.

Have a new born and a dog that is absolutely terrified of loud noises. They started going off about 11 on Saturday. I agree with Ronnie... have your fun. Do what you want, but if you're going to be blasting off fireworks, how about right after the sun goes down and make it easier on those of us that need the quiet.

One of these years I'm going to buy my own mortar shells and set them off at 6AM right in front of our neighbor's house. Let's see how you feel after that.

They haven't started firing off fireworks yet in our neighborhood, but it's coming. We're out in the county, so no noise ordinance. The neighborhood dogs go berzerk, as do the goats next door. It usually lasts about a week before and after the 4th, as well as the 10 days before and after Christmas and New Years.

3pm, the optimal time for fireworks viewing.

I don't mind the fireworks shortly after dusk. That said, there was a woman that posted in the Altoona Facebook group shaming people for setting off fireworks because of veterans with PTSD. Right on cue, multiple *actual* veterans chimed in telling her to stop carrying their water for them and that they don't want their PTSD to prevent the celebration of independence/tradition.

People loooooooooooooove to "defend the veterans"

"think of the veterans"

There is some numbnuts down the hill, in our densely populated area, that sets off fireworks after Steeler games and Pens playoff games. This week is his opus.

But if I don't think of the veterans, then I'm un-American.

No. I joke about the veteran stuff here but it's really such a small part of who I am at this point. I've been out of the service longer than I was in. I don't even own any Marine Corps t-shirts, crazy. I do have a veteran license plate on my motorcycle; you know, you hardly ever see a veteran on a motorcycle.
