How long will they need to close it down to one lane to put the sign up?I already received an email back from PennDOT.
I Googled the person she CC'ed on the email and she is the senior civil/transportation engineer for PennDOT District 6. I'm pretty impressed so far.Good Morning,

I've gotten used to all kinds of background noises during conference calls. Usually people are good when using the mute button, but you just can't avoid noise sometimes. I have a regular Tuesday conference call with people from Italy and Australia, so I don't expect everybody to be sitting in a quiet cubicle due to the myriad of time zones. You get screaming kids, wind from the car, machines running in a fab shop, bad VOIP connections, etc.

It'll take 2-3 years just to design and fabricate the signHow long will they need to close it down to one lane to put the sign up?I already received an email back from PennDOT.

I know you're just being facetious, but in all actuality the sign is sitting in a room at the nearest PennDOT hub. It'll take 2-3 years just to design and fabricate the signHow long will they need to close it down to one lane to put the sign up?I already received an email back from PennDOT.

The true Philly Special, where 4-5 people walk side/side with each other down an 8’ wide sidewalk in center city.

I just hold my ground...I guarantee you're not gonna walk into me...so the obligation is on you to make the move...I make sure that's enforced or I do try to Scott Stevens the person closest to my side...I absolutely walloped some Asian dude this summer who was not obeying the rules, may or may not have been Paul Kariya...

Unless it’s a bunch of old ladies or something, I just walk on the right side. Somebody eventually moves. I just wonder if it’s incompetence on their part, or just being a ******.

Refreshing to know Pittsburgh is not the only place where people do specific dumb things like the “Pittsburgh Everywhere Left”itis a pretty good gear grind actually. This may shock you but people do this everywhere.
Another example: Through various internet lists I have found that many metropolitan areas believe they have a monopoly on calling sprinkles that you put on desserts “Jimmies” when in fact everyone calls them that.

There's nothing wrong with the Pittsburgh left if, you know, you move your ass through. I hate people that insist on doing it but crawl through the intersection. Gun it and get through.
