You know what really grinds my gears...

I pulled out of my driveway this morning and started to proceed out of our cul-de-sac. We live on the corner so there is another street that has a stop sign right out in front of our house. As I start going down the through street, I notice a car coming down from the other street, and that driver's sixth sense most of us have tells me that I need to be watching closely. Sure enough, this woman barrels right through the stop sign like it wasn't even there. I had to swerve into the other side of the road so she didn't hit me, but I would guess she came within about a foot of making contact with the door where my daughter was sitting.

I wanted to fly into a rage, but I realized pretty quickly it was the old woman that lives on the other side of our cul de sac, because I identified her by those sweet wraparound glaucoma sunglasses. It's funny, most mornings I wouldn't even think about a car not stopping there because the only people that would drive there are from our neighborhood (and should thus be aware of it), but thankfully I was paying attention. Frickin elderly drivers.

Not really poking fun at you as it doesn't really apply in your case, but it got me thinking that there has to be subreddit of people that 'almost died' in tragedies they had nothing to do with. Like how everyone in western PA was almost killed in 9/11 because Flight 93 flew overhead. That's an extreme example but you see stories all the time of people on the fringe of tragedy trying to play it up. Closest thing I can think of is r/thathappened

Yeah well Trump is literally Hitler so we're all basically dead at this point.

I was in Disney springs at the same time that pulse night club shooter was seeing if he would shoot Disney springs up.

Just an interesting tidbit. I know I was never in danger.

For some reason, I'm reminded of a joke that Anthony Jeselnik tells...he says something along the lines of, "The 9/11 tragedy hit really close to home for me, not only Flight 93, but my father should have been on the plane that struck the second World Trade Center Tower........................*I* think."

The only legit coulda-been-me-on-9/11 story I think I've ever heard was that Seth McFarlane was booked to be on one of the flights out Boston, but was hungover and overslept and missed the flight.

One was left with the feeling that #neverforget was created so that everyone would remember his personal connection.

The Seth Mcfarlane one is a legitimate "almost died" story.

I don’t know the EPP story. Did he miss a flight because he got into an argument with a cloud?

Movies on cable TV.

That said, this is a very elitist take and I know it lets people watch movies they otherwise might not see

Another one... Xfinity On Demand shows, each season you start on the LAST episode of the season. Why the hell does it not start at Episode 1 and go down from there? There doesn't seem to be an option to change it

Just went back to comcast after 5 yrs with Directv. Since comcast is the only acceptable HSIA option in my area it is going to save me about $100 a month. That said:

- the set top boxes don’t stream the DVR. I guess they have ones that do. Hello it’s 2018 this should be default if you have the X1 or whatever it is. Can stream DVR on devices just not the other boxes. Wonder how much they are going to try to gash me for that.

- Huge Investigation Discovery fan. Website says it is in my package. It’s not. Some contractual dispute apparently. Take it off the online channel list then! Do not get Id Go access.

- Package includes Showtime but I can’t get it on the set top boxes, only the X1 and devices. Do get Showtime Anytime access. Starz available on set tops. Weird.
