My kids can't load a dishwasher correctly, that's for damn sure. Front load all the silverware in the closest slots to the door, leaving 2/3 of the basket empty. Put glasses and cups in two rows instead of a single lane, and so on. Maddening. Then they complain about dirty silverware or having to unload it too often.

In order to have an opinion on her methods, she would need a method. Right now, it does not apply because she doesn't load the damn thing or unload it, either. Is anyone truly happy with the way their spouse loads/unloads the dishwasher? Probably not, no?

I know this has been mentioned in other threads, but every single USPS package is being delayed 2+ days over the past month or so. This hasn't happened to me in years.

Thanks, Biden

My wife finds a way to get way more stuff in the dishwasher than I do. She does it like it's Tetris and everything still comes out clean soooooo fine by me.

We've probably already gone over this ITT or another, but my wife loads the silverware pointy side up. It wouldn't be an issue except I stab myself every time I reach for a plate or something near the silverware tray.
There's absolutely no need to install silverware pointy side up. The jets shoot water from underneath, they'll get clean either way.

Why would you put silverware in pointy side up? That makes cleaning it pointless, since you're grabbing the part that goes in your mouth with dirty hands...

You can easily grab them by the stem...but you don't wash your hands before handling kitchen stuff, like food and silverware and glassware...?

Most newer dishwashers have two cleaner bars, so it doesn't matter which direction you put the utensils. Ours are pointed up, too, and we've never been stabbed by them... yet?

Whoa whoa whoa whoa. Pointy side up is correct. Because. Ya know. Gravity and all.
Do you wash your wheels before the roof of your car?
Do you wash your balls before your hair?
The answer to both of these is no. Pointy side up is correct.

I also wonder how clean silverware is when pointy side down in the compartments compared to the other way around, since there are no restrictions.

Now that I think about it we do ours pointy side up as well as far as utensils go...minus super sharp knives.

Outside of butter knives, they don't belong in the dishwasher. Hand wash those you neanderthals.

Yeah we have a good set of knives that get handwashed only, but there are a small set of cheap knives we have that are fairly sharp that still go in the dishwasher.

Do you rotate your plates and other dishwashed apparatuses so the dirtiest side is facing up?

I learned in home and careers to not put silverware pointy side up because then you have risks with grabbing at knives by the blade

If you are worried about stabbing yourself with a steak knife if you load it into the dishwasher in the correct orientation....... maybe just lean into the pitch and take one for the team.
