I think there is a new Bat girl or something coming out that has her as a lesbian?
I haven't heard that one yet, but there is some new transgender super hero on the Supergirl show, the ghostbusters are now women, Oceans 8 are now all women, didn't they make a black/gay Spider-Man recently (or one of the super heros that has always been a white straight male), Dr Who is now a woman.

There is a push to make James Bond a female. Or Indiana Jones.

Why can't Laura Croft be fine?

I'm not talking about Black Panther, or Hunger Games where the lead is female.

No, it's more of Hollywood is trying too hard to make up for not having strong female/minority type characters in the past by overdoing it the opposite way.

Yes, this absolutely grinds my gears. They installed a water bottle filler in our building that issues lukewarm (at best) water. I take a Yeti rambler full of ice water from home, which lasts the entire day, but if I add water from that fountain, it melts the ice and is gross.

Of the top 10 grossing films of 2017, 3 had female leads and none had any major non-hetero characters.

So far in 2018 none of the top 10 films have a female lead (although one could count A Quiet Place and Ant Man and the Wasp as having a female lead) and only 1 film had a "major" non-hetero character (Deadpool 2)

You can't go by returns, that's a measure of what the audience wants. Nobody saw A Wrinkle In Time because it was **** despite getting studio support.

If someone says "all movies are going feminine and gay" I figured showing the movies people want to see most are, in fact, not would show some sort of evidence. I don't understand how it not only negates the counter argument but proves the initial one.

The one that really comes to mind for me is that the next Iron Man was supposed to be a black woman. I have no idea if that ever got off the ground, though. That's not accounting for the Ghostbusters and Oceans rehashes, etc.
