Cashiers who hand you your paper bills, coins, and receipt all at once should be fired.

I pretty much always want my receipt in the bag...that's acceptable, right? That said, I can't remember the last time I paid cash at a store of virtually any sort...very 20th century... /posh

I was waiting for your arrival, WK. You have a sixth sense about cash-related issues.

I'd like to use cash more than I do. To fill up my coin bank more than anything.

There's a $9 "convenience" charge to book a 90 minute window to visit Santa at the mall.

At least in Pgh the $5 to wait in line for 90 minutes and take one picture with Santa went towards a food bank.

I'd reconsider if that were the case here, but it's not. Worst case scenario, if the line is terribly long, I'll just pick her up from daycare early one day and go while everyone else is in school and at work.

In true Christmas spirit, somebody stole multiple packages from my sister’s front door over the last week. And since she didn’t use a major credit card, she has virtually no protection.

Yep. Seems this is getting worse, as there were reports of this on both the local news and CBS Nightly News tonight.

There is a special place in hell for people that steal packages off porches. Right beside the people that buy a bunch of the hot Christmas toys to resell at 4x their value.

My porch/stoop has minimal protection from weather, so I bought a huge Rubbermaid lidded storage tote, tossed a couple bricks in the bottom so it can't blow away even with the strongest wind, and put a sign under my doorbell that says "please leave packages in box" with an arrow pointing down. Probably 90% of the packages I get fit inside. Not only does it keep rain/snow off the boxes, but no one driving by can see whether there's a package inside.

When I lived in an apartment on 5th Avenue I got a PO Box just for that reason.

A few years ago, our UPS driver hid a huge Amazon box (about four feet tall) under our door mat.
We've had a lot of package stealing in our neighborhood this holiday season. Our neighborhood watch page has been going berserk with pictures and security footage, trying to catch the perps.

My UPS guy makes a point to do stuff like that at my house. He left my wife's 4 new tires under our doormat earlier this week, rang my bell, and waited for me to come outside and see.Source of the post A few years ago, our UPS driver hid a huge Amazon box (about four feet tall) under our door mat.
I've never had anything stolen from my house, and I receive 1-3 boxes/week. That said, I'd sooner have Amazon deliver everything to one of their storage box locations before having it delivered to work where there's a chance I may never see the package again due to mishandling. My credit cards all have purchase protection, and I work from home twice/week, with my office looking directly out the front of the house. If I order something expensive, I make sure and require a signature.Source of the post You guys do have work addresses, correct?

My work misplaced an Amazon Pantry box once. It weighed about 45 pounds and was quite large.

It must be a city vs. suburb thing. I'd never trust having a box sitting around on the front steps.
edit: the cops knocked on my door about a month ago and handed me....my mail. Someone was stealing it from various houses/buildings and they nabbed him.

Haven't multiple people been shot in your neighborhood over the past year or so?

We haven't had a shooting in about 9 months!Haven't multiple people been shot in your neighborhood over the past year or so?
But yes, at least 3 people shot on blocks behind and adjacent to mine in the last 3 years.

I can edit my posts, but DG would have to do the same.
