You know what really grinds my gears...
I don't practice the Lenten tradition of no meat Fridays, but do enjoy fish fry's. However, there's nothing spectacular about them. It's fried fish. How many ways can you fry a cod?
The one we go to we enjoy because they give you a decent amount of sides, plus you can order online and pick it up without getting out of your car. My in-laws, on the other hand, are serial fish fryers. They try new ones every year. I swear it's their goal in life to visit every one in Pittsburgh.

The overwhelming memory I have of fish fries where I grew up was not delicious fried fish, but rather unacceptably soggy French fries.

I learned a valuable life lesson this morning: Don't queue up behind a transport van/shuttle at the gas station, as they apparently have 500-gallon fuel tanks and take 25 minutes to fill.

So I actually decided to try and listen to Sirius satellite radio this week - as I'm out of podcasts. What in tarnation is it with having radio commercials on their channels, I honestly thought that was the reason to pay - but the comedy station was a commercial every 5 minutes or so.

No commercials on 97% if the music stations

Yeah, when they launched they did a pretty good job of explaining it was just the music stations that were ad-free. Never understood all the Stern fans that would call in complaining about it; they literally expressly said it was just the music channels.
Check out POTUS (124), they have a good lineup of non-partisan hosts (Tim Farley, Smerconish, Julie Mason, Steele & Ungar), and the discourse is usually pretty informative and constructive.

I loved XM about ten years ago. Bought an antenna and hard wired it to my new head unit. Did it all myself with no prior knowledge, probably my top ten proudest moments of my life hah.So I actually decided to try and listen to Sirius satellite radio this week - as I'm out of podcasts. What in tarnation is it with having radio commercials on their channels, I honestly thought that was the reason to pay - but the comedy station was a commercial every 5 minutes or so.
Anyway I canceled it about five years later. A couple of my favorite stations had changed, more repeats, and then more DJ interruptions. It just wasn't worth to me anymore so I canceled.
I got a new car two months ago so I am still under the XM free trial. I tried a few of my former favorite stations and the comedy ones and I just couldn't pay for that after I have gotten so used to Spotify and podcasts.
If you have Spotify, there is a public playlist called "Stand Up Comedy". It has over 10,000 tracks in it from a wide range of comedians. Over 547 hours worth of stuff. XM can't hold a candle to that.

The audio quality of Sirius XM sucks, especially the satellite units. So compressed. The desktop or app is a little better, but still lower quality than other streaming services.

The main software that I use at work doesn't let you paste information into fields with Ctrl+V. Have to right-click, paste.

Parents who leave their bags in the chairs at the front of the viewing window for swim class but are all gathered up 50’ away chatting with each other instead of watching their kids.

What's your beef with Oracle? I've heard this from others but have only used it once.

For an IT admin, it’s awful to deal with in general. The installer is bloated as hell, configuration is convoluted, and causes more oddball issues to the point that it’s almost preferred to simply reinstall everything than troubleshoot anything.**** Oracle.

Want to use just a single feature of the client for some random tasks? You need 1GB worth of prerequisites just to run that 500kb app.

Oracle PL/SQL was/is wonky and not my preference.

There’s been a big push away from Oracle and towards SQL over the past decade, and it’s not just because of Oracle’s awful licensing.

We use Oracle for some stuff. Used to be the primary expense audit system

I've always heard that it (the database itself) requires too much administration by a dba. There’s been a big push away from Oracle and towards SQL over the past decade, and it’s not just because of Oracle’s awful licensing.

Probably crappy code or bad network connection, etc vs Oracle not being a good database. We use Oracle for some stuff. Used to be the primary expense audit system

A door to door insurance salesman just showed up at my house. Did I get transported back in time to 1955?
