It doesn't matter, thought it was funny more than anything since I was able to see the beginning of the discussion so the proxy did nothing basically.

The first guy that said it was kinda edgy, maybe even clever. The long line of paraphrasers that came behind him are loathsome.

We got a $20 off coupon for Shutterfly as part of our Santa pictures package. So, my wife browses around and decides to get my daughter this mug with a photo on it. I add a dozen or so 4x6's to bring the total to $20.75, since I needed to spend at least $20 to use the coupon. Enter the $9.80 shipping charge. **** off, Shutterfly. I'm not paying nearly $10 to have something shipped when I know they can ship it for less via USPS, and still wind up waiting nearly two months for it to arrive.

Where are prints made these days when you go through a service like this? I can't imagine there are many big photo finishing plants in the country anymore. I briefly worked at one in Rockford, IL and that place would process tens of thousands of rolls of film every night.

I have no idea where the prints are actually made anymore; I never really look into it. I've been happy with their prints for stuff up to 8x10, but their shipping charges are getting out of hand. MPIX would be my choice for larger prints.

Mpix is far superior to Shutterfly. The issue with mpix is they tend to print on the dark side. Or the pro versions of their labs do anyway.

The prints I get out of my Epson 3880 blow away any lab I've tried. It's just a pita to make them, cut them out, keep the printed head from getting clogged, etc. Plus, I can buy prints from other labs cheaper than I can print my own.

I always get prints from Walmart. Ship to store. Super cheap and easy.

It definitely helps if you follow Mpix's guidelines when printing larger photos (8-bit sRGB, etc.). I have a few large photos done by them and am extremely happy with how they turned out.

I basically only use Shutterfly now for my calendars, though I will be searching for a replacement next year. They changed their calendar creator, and now it's a steaming pile of monkey ****.

Yeah shutterfly seriously blows. I bought a canon pixma pro photo printer a few years ago. I can print up to 17x13 and the results are better than anything I've gotten online besides maybe mpix but like tony said - they come out too dark.

Looking at my source photo and printed photo from Mpix, the print is definitely darker, but not enough for me to even consider having them re-print it (which they will do for free, FWIW). I switched to canvas and metal art years ago, but if I did use Mpix again, I'd probably just adjust the exposure a bit and go with it.

incoming rant

in june, we purchase about 20 chairs from target. they were all the same model but different colors. we were trying to see what went best with our kitchen table. we ordered 1 set of grey, 3 sets of red, 2 sets of green and 4 sets of white. each 'set' came with 2 chairs. the chair sets were about 120 bucks except the white, which happened to be 86 dollars. we liked the white the best; however, much to our chagrin, the 'sets' actually only came with one chair. we received 4 boxes; but each box only contained 1 chair whereas the other colors had 2 chairs per box. when this was identified, we went to order more and they have been sold out until yesterday when i happened to notice they were back in stock. i had called their customer support several times and had a hard time reasoning with the malaysians about my situation. after several calls to their 'escalation team' and after a comcastian struggle, i succumbed to the attrition and gave up. lo and behold they are back in stock at 120 a set now. i tried calling the folks again, no luck. went to my local target and tried to explain my situation and their response was to return them , get a credit, and order the ones. i thought that seemed reasonable, but then i realized i paid 86 dollars for 8 chairs and only received 4 chairs and now i have to buy 3 sets (praying there are actually 2 chairs per set now..................) rather than just 1 extra set to give us 10. this whole **** up is going to cost me an extra 240 dollars. i have lodged a formal complaint however i imagine there will be no resolution but it was somewhat remarkable to me how the local store basically says we cant do anything with target.com.

im happy to pay full price for the set that i would have purchased to get 10 chairs. it just chaps my butt that for whatever supply chain snafu they had when i was supposed to get 8 chairs, i only received 4, so i need to buy 4 more chairs as a result

Did you try craigslist or facebook marketplace? That's where I buy all my chairs.
