I noticed a lot of empty shelf space at my grocer.
I've noticed empty shelf space in some weird areas. for instance, my local Publix hasn't had Gatorade for 3 weeks. :scared:

I'm starting to get calls where I answer and say "hello?" and nothing. then the next time I say "hello?" I get, "can you hear me?" "yes" then it's clearly a robo-call about life insurance. annoying.

Now that school is back, I am forced to once again answer every call on my cell phone, just in case. Just got another auto warranty call.

Best part about Pixel phone is the google assistant. I haven't had to deal with a warranty call in almost a year.

:?: :?:

They're in stock where I live. We've also cut down on our consumption since school lunches are free, so maybe that has kept inventory in check.

Supply problems all over the place. Today show said the next one coming is paper- like pulp, so everything from TP and towels (AGAIN) to printer paper, cardboard boxes....

My new Mazda went in for an airbag light on August 27, and apparently there's an airbag shortage. Today was the most recent estimated ETA for the replacement, after the 31st, then the 6th. They gave me a loner due to the safety issue under warranty, so I'm mobile, but..... I'd like to get my own car back sometime.

It's gotten bad enough that I never answer the phone anymore.

By far, the worst offender of spam calling is the American Red Cross. I gave platelets/blood a few months ago, and they are all over my ass to make another appointment. I suppose it's a good thing, because I am about to make an appointment so they will leave me alone

Yeah, there is absolutely zero reason to answer any call from a number that isn't saved in your contacts.

I feel like this has to end eventually right? Maybe with our generation? Any number I don't recognize is immediately ignored, and if the same number calls me but doesn't leave a message, I often block it on my phone.

This is the phone equivalent to all the social media games where you list your favorite albums or your favorite vacation destinations, etc. Or those multi-question quizzes where you list the make/model of your first car, where you went to high school, and so on. These are often answers to ID authentication questions to verify password change requests.

And I confess, I've participated in these things over the years.

II noticed that with gatorade is both stores I shop at regularly. Not completely out but down about 70%.

Unfortunately my work number is also my personal cell phone so this isn't an option for me

I still let crap go to voicemail if I don't know it. I've been here long enough that I have most pertinent numbers in my contacts. If someone gave out my number, they can leave a message.

Netflix episode synopses that act as spoilers. It happens so often it feels like it's being passive-aggressively done by some intern.

For example: Friday Night Lights S1E2 ends with a cliffhanger, a kicker kicking off to start the big game as it fades to black. S1E3 synopis? "The Panthers suffer a humiliating loss, which puts added pressure on the entire team. Lyla tries to help Jason believe that he will walk again."

Two sentences and the A and B storylines are spoiled.

That’s annoying. The good news is more upcoming screen time for Lyla Garrity.

holy **** it's incredible how bad people are at making presentations. I'm in a leadership development program at my work and we're doing final presentations. Some people have literal paragraphs of text in their powerpoint slides

Our CTSO will not accept PowerPoint presentations unless there is a wall of detailed text explaining things. She's the sole reason why all of us cringe whenever we hear the word "PowerPoint".

It sucks when you learn the "best practice" way to do something for your job but run into a boss that likes thinks done *their* way that is completely and mind numbingly stupidly opposite, thus that is what you now have to do...sigh..
