Ntp, your post reminded me of a good peeve I experienced repeatedly when driving back from NC this weekend.

I hate traffic lights that either don't have sensors or have ones that don't work. It's frustrating driving at 5am with barely anyone on the road, and having to sit through a full two minute cycle at a light when no one is around.

That perfectly describes the light around the corner from me. I grab lattes at Dunkin on Wednesdays, and I can sit at that light for 5 minutes, not seeing a single car pass. I just started to turn into the gas station and then make a left out of there to bypass it. So dumb.

it is legal in PA now to run the red light if it is all clear and you believe the sensor didn't pick you up

If no one sees you run it, then it doesn't matter if it is legal.

I’m always afraid of a red light camera. I got a ticket once for turning right at a red light without stopping (it was weird, I was pulling into a parking lot and I didn’t really think about the red light)

Currently, red-light cameras are only legal in PA in cities with over 20,000 residents, but other than Philly and maybe Pittsburgh they don't seem to be located anywhere else in the state. I know they are marked in Philly, so just make sure there isn't a sign or use Waze.

Plus, aren't red light cameras designed to catch people as the light changes? So if you are sitting there and the light has been red for a while and you go, I didn't think it would register.

Me doing that usually helps me remember things...I'm not actually obligating that person to remember that item...

If I've already told you multiple times to reach out to Customer Service for help, and you continue to make the same mistake month after month, I'm inclined to believe you're not listening to me/CS and am way less inclined to actually help you.

The ones in our area are on a delay, so if you go through it, you have a second or so before it flashes.

Sites that only show 10-20 products per page, and won't let you change it. I'm looking at you, Dell. I have $36 in Dell Rewards to use, and it' takes forever to browse through 2000 items when you can only view 12 items per page.

Just got a notice that Aqua America (our water provider) intends to raise the rates more than 17%. I doubt there's anything I can say to prevent this, but I'm sending a letter to the PA PUC anyway.

Not sure how they work in PA, but in CA the red light camera also has to capture a clear image of the driver's face for the citation to be enforceable. (Cameras are on both sides of intersections and point both ways.) They're so unreliable and so many tickets were being tossed out in court when disputed that Los Angeles stopped enforcing them altogether.

That sounds like a ridiculous requirement.

Obligating the state to positively identify people they're accusing of violations and demanding restitution in consideration of said violation is not the slightest bit onerous. What's silly is putting a system in place like traffic light cameras to accomplish this task passively.

Incidentally, the number one way drivers were able to get out of the tickets when they were being enforced was to simply tool about town with your sun visor down. The cameras were mounted about 6' off the ground, so they were constantly pointed at a downward angle at most vehicles, and the visor obscured the driver's face.

My wife and I use Google's SMS messenger as default on our Galaxies because the stock Samsung messenger app gave us problems for a while with sending pictures or even normal texts. My phone updated the other day and started pushing me to re-enable the Samsung app. I just ignored it and moved on.

But then the Samsung app resent a three week old text message from my wife through it so that it could try and trick me into launching it as default. What the actual ****.

I am officially anti rentable scooters. Or at the very least, i'm against anyone being allowed to rent a scooter downtown beyond, like, 10:00 at night. Those things are just license to act like a jagoff.

I also saw a guy riding on one in traffic in east liberty. With a mask on. And a baby in one of those harnesses you attach to your chest. I'm glad he was masking up outdoors while putting his child's health at serious risk.

I sort of agree. I ride them pretty infrequently (only done it once in the last two years) but 90% of scooter riders are shitdicks who go full throttle and expect you as a pedestrian to dive out of the way or get run over

Daughter got injured in a soccer game last week. Cleared by Doctor to play. Saw trainer on Sat and they said they need confirmation to them from the doctor by fax.

Fax? Are you serious right now? Is this 1992?
