You know what really grinds my gears...

Postby Morkle » Tue Feb 09, 2021 12:33 pm

Getting real tired of UPS/Fedex/Amazon setting packages right in front of my door so I can't open it. I have a pretty sizeable front stoop that is always cleaned off and ready for packages.

I don't want to be passive aggressive and leave a note, but Christ.

When a faculty member emails me to get a conference call telephone that he needs in 10 minutes (and it's not something I'm even in charge of, that's our IT department) and then starts knocking on my door because I haven't responded to the email in 8 minutes.

Kindly, go **** yourself. Your lacking of planning isn't my problem.

As I sit here thinking about it, I don't think I have ever lived in a house or an apartment with an outward-opening entry door, either in PA or CA. Our first house in Altoona had an outward-opening screen door, but the entry door to the house opened inward.

Yea, we have a storm door that's glass and a regular house door. One swings outward, the other swings inward.

Question I didn't think I'd need to answer today, lol.

Reminds me of when I was talking about peacoats one day and a buddy of mine (Heitkotter, tif) from CA had no idea what it was. heh.

I wouldn't feel passive aggressive about leaving a note. But maybe make it so you're asking for packages to be left where they are out of sight from the sidewalk or something, not "Hey, jerk-face, you're blocking my door".

I have one or two regular commercial ones, but I also have a CG peacoat and a Navy bridge coat (Korean war era). I'll wear the bridge coat to winter funerals (with the brass buttons swapped for black ones).

Time for a new carbon monoxide detector, MIMHsy...you have been ice ****** cold the last couple weeks...

Crypto, stonks, fashion, liking dodint, you think Peyton Manning is known as a Denver Bronco...at the very, very worst, I'm top 3 on this board in terms of fashion...unless I'm going for like Office Space extra or something...

You’re in the upper echelon of people that can take a joke about themselves around here. So you are getting both barrels today

I'd hang out with dodint again. Not sure that feeling is mutual but he's good people regardless.

Sometimes, Amazon makes no sense. I bought razor refills two weeks ago, and they appeared to have been lost in shipping (Amazon delivery). So I chat with them asking for a status, and they simply order me a replacement without me asking. Okay, whatever. Both wind up being delivered on the same day. They then send me an e-mail asking me to return the replacement order, or I will be charged for it. Perfectly reasonable.

I chat with Amazon this morning and ask them if they can give me the replacement blades for the same price as my original purchase, since it was a Lightning deal. They cannot. So now they're going to spend $2 more than that discount on shipping it back to themselves.

That just makes no sense to me.
