Surprised that meow doesn’t use Calibri to pretend that he’s fancy.

Calibri, like the other "C" fonts in the Microsoft ClearType Font Collection (i.e., Constantia, Corbel, Cambria, Candara, and Consolas) was designed to look good on the screen. But the same things that make text look good on a monitor can make text look bad on paper. Printed Cambria, in particular, makes me want to poke my eyes out, even though it's not too bad on a screen.

Am I the only one left using Times New Roman?

When I kidnap Shyster, the ransom note is going to be comprised entirely of the fonts he hates.

I use TNR for a fair amount of stuff. It's far from a favorite, but I prefer serif fonts to san-serif fonts, and TNR does have the advantage for shared documents that you know that everyone will have it installed. It's also a compact font, having been originally designed for newspaper use, and that can have some advantages if one is dealing with page limits.
My personal favorite font is Iowan Old Style. I used to use it for appellate briefs, but Iowan is "large" on the page for a given point size, and when the Pennsylvania courts went to a 14-point minimum size, Iowan just looks too large. I now use a typeface called Equity for appellate briefs and many other documents, which is from Matthew Butterick, who wrote Typography For Lawyers. He's had an interesting career path in that he was a type designer for Adobe before becoming a lawyer, and he still designs fonts. Equity was designed to be roughly the same size as TNR on the page for any given point size, but it's a little darker, looks much better, has a much better italic (which lawyers use constantly), and has elegant versions of common symbols used by lawyers, such as the paragraph and section symbols.

It’s becoming more difficult to support my local credit union when they disabled the ability to transfer money into your add-on CDs online (must call), they cut hours at all branches and eliminated Saturday hours altogether, and going through the drive-thru is at least an hour long affair. If Marcus opens a checking account, I’m out.

Garamond or Georgia for emails and skype.
Arial Narrow or Lucinda Bright for Excel.
Which gives me a thought.......
I do mostly financial reconciliation reporting and analysis, trending analysis, data integrity QA, etc in Excel. Sometimes it's good news and sometimes it's not so good. Wondering if I could Pavlov my business owners with fonts. Good news is Lucinda Bright...bad is Arial Narrow...for six months...then switch it.

If you liked that, you should look into the documentary about the story behind state postal abbreviations.I ordered Helvetica : homage to a typeface for our library a few years ago. A book about a single font. Actually pretty interesting.
