You know what really grinds my gears...
Microsoft released a new version of their profile container software, but didn't include any release notes. I reply to one of their threads on TechNet calling them lazy and was told "we could release the software now with release notes a few weeks later, or the software and release notes a few weeks later at the same time". You **** muppet, NOBODY IS INSTALLING THE SOFTWARE WITHOUT RELEASE NOTES.

Those people are dumb, and that's not a reason to release a major update without any information attached to it. I'd rather have this clown simply tell me that it's coming, because now I'm just going to jack up the sarcasm meter when he replies.

Came back to a bit of a **** show, and stuff like this is infuriating when we're talking about a company as large as Microsoft. I'm stuck in la la land with my upgrade until the release notes are posted.

I took an class about International Data Protection last weekend. One of my fellow students was a Microsoft employee, she works in the gaming (XBox) division. She seemed frustrated about their business practices as well.

The frustrating bit for me is that Microsoft just acquired this company, and their first release under the MS umbrella is like this. It's just lazy. Outside of that, I really don't hate Microsoft. My opinion would probably be different if I were one of those affected by the data purge that came with some 1803 upgrades back in the day.

There's no way to make this comment without sounding completely dopey, so I'll just go all in.
Mrs Tif had a team conference call this AM that included people on the east coast. On this particular day, that meant she had to be in the office by 7, so she was out the door at like 6. She texted a still-sleeping me "Don't forget to take the trash bins out".

I was asleep, with no firm knowledge of when the first trucks would be coming by beyond 'later'. She was standing next to the bins.

Hmmmm... on first read, I figured she had meant to take out the trash but forgot due to her normal morning schedule being messed up so she texted you to do it.

Also, to be clear, I got up and took the bins out both before the first truck arrived and before I ever saw the text message. I'm just not quite sure what she thought she was accomplishing by texting a sleeping person a potentially time-critical reminder.
Believe me, in the grand scheme of things if this is my biggest beef (and it is) then I'm doing pretty damned alright.

Ah... I understand the issue now.
I don't have an alarm clock. My phone is my alarm clock, so the first thing I do when I wake up is see text messages that I missed overnight, thus why I didn't understand the problem.

Maybe I'm missing something, but does it grind your gears that she didn't take them out when she left and texted you instead?

My alarm clock is the beagle.
Also, we moved out of the temp apartment in April, but the property managers only edited the name for the addressee on their Amazon Locker Hub. Which means my Amazon account is still linked to that Hub, which means I get all the new package notifications for deliveries (text and email) to that unit, and the actual addressee gets nothing. This means the property managers have to go to the Hub themselves, enter the code, take the package to the office, and call the tenant to let her know they have her Amazon order.
The property managers have been alerted to this several times; they have to completely delete the unit from the Hub, then re-add it with the new tenant's info. But instead, about once every ten days or so since April, they go through the rigmarole described above, and I get what amount to spam texts and emails.

Yes. It's the texting part that bugs me, because it's passive (on my end). If you aren't going to take them out yourself, come back in and wake me, "Hey bub, bins OUT. Gotta go!" That's totally fine.Maybe I'm missing something, but does it grind your gears that she didn't take them out when she left and texted you instead?
And I acknowledge if she was a poster here, she may very well have posted today, "Tif didn't take out the bins last night, grrrr," ITT.
It is a very mild form of gear grinding, but it's what I've got to offer right now.

Didn't realize this was the "You know what is mildly annoying..." thread.
