Wayfair is hit-and-miss. And even to the extent something is good, it's often still wonky somehow. We have a Wayfair low bookshelf thing that could not physically be assembled the way the instructions directed. Mrs Tif got a side table for her office that we ended up binning a few months later because one of the legs wouldn't stay connected; it was the Leaning Table of West Hills.

I’m not sure it’s a gear grind… more just confused. Walmart has AirPods on sale online for $199. But you have to buy them online. I didn’t know this until I got to the register and it show $240. I mention that it said on the website $199. They informed me of the online only policy. I asked if I buy them on my phone right now, how long until I can grab em and go. “2-3 hours”.
Best Buy across the street has them at $199. I’ll just go there.
“Okay. Have a good one.”
Just a strange thing I haven’t encountered before. If I show up and try to buy them I get a $40 extra fee?

Costco has them for $199 as well. I think they are trying to clear inventory of the current gen for a newer model.
And yes, I don't understand why it costs differently in person vs. online. This happens all the time to us, especially with clothes.

Screw Apple and their $199 ear buds.

When they were first rolling out services like Moviefone a couple local theater chains tried their hand at their own proprietary pre-order thing. A couple buddies and I went to see a movie (I think Starship Troopers) and the person at the boxoffice told us they were piloting the program and that location was pre-order only now. So we stepped aside and within earshot of the booth called and ordered tickets, then walked up to the window and picked them up.I mention that it said on the website $199. I've done this for two semi-expensive purchases at Home Depot and Lowe's where they had online sales that the store couldn't honor, for some reason. Placed the order on my phone, grabbed it from the aisle, and went to customer service for them to look it up (usually takes 5-10 minutes) and walk out.Source of the post So we stepped aside and within earshot of the booth called and ordered tickets, then walked up to the window and picked them up.

I was gonna post the cheap ear buds I bought on Amazon I liked but the link to the product doesn't even work anymore. that's...not goodScrew Apple and their $199 ear buds.
the ear buds aren't bad but they are obviously cheap chinese ones. ear buds are so easily losable/breakable so I would never want to spend hundreds on them

For me, I think Apple’s earbuds fit really well compared to a lot of others. Sound is decent, but not high tier. Pricing is atrocious on anything wireless, but their wired earbuds are a good value.

I’ll admit it’s annoying that my earbuds don’t fit my ears well. They’ll fall out if I lay down

I have the same complaint, to a lesser degree, so the my Skullcandy earbuds. My Apple ones are perfect in that regard.

I have an iPhone and the AirPods are phenomenal for the iPhone. The pro version is regarded as some of the best on the market. *shrug*

$200 for earbuds is absurd even if they sound great IMO, but I'm not the target audience.
I think the pixel earbuds are a similar price and I wouldn't buy those either.

Ear stuff does not stay in my ear and I do not participate...this isn't a stance I endorse, it just is...

I still plug my headphones in lol.

I do not care for wireless earbuds at all. I have a pair (I think Jabra) that are sort of an emergency backup, but generally I'm wired. And not only wired, but the kind that loop over your ear, like stage audio monitors. (@NTP that's one of the reasons why I didn't shell out for those Anker headphones; my wired earpieces sort of fill my ear.... hole? enough that external sounds are naturally muted a bit.)

I wear mine nearly daily for at least 3-4 hours. I’m okay with paying what I did.

Yeah, I use my wired set like 99% of the time. I started using my BT ones last summer when I walk around the park during my daughter’s soccer practice.
Now I really only use them when I’m on the phone with one of my friends, since I leave my phone where it is and pace around the house.
